Just wanted to say that I am beyond impressed at the Purler Academy. The 40 boys in attendance are getting the workout of their young lives. This camp is the real deal. I hope that Nic and the gang decided to come back next year. There are a few boys who came from Michigian to be a part of the camp.

The coach, breaks down every move in steps, and then has the boys drill, drill, drill. Not like some camps where they are literally shown 200 moves, and come away not remembering much.

This camp is not for the weak at heart. Not too many High School boys there, but most of the top elite youth are there: G. Pariot, M. McGhee, A. Davis, S. Bennyhoff, Q. Berres, M. Abeyta, A. Cashman just to name a few. Over half the boys in attendance are current or former state champs.

This is the one camp every wrestler should be in.

Just my thoughts.

The Granby System camps are kind of the same way, plus he walks around and talks to the coaches on the keys to implementing the moves during the season.
Here is a link on what we implemented in one season

I would have to agree - this is the real deal. I guess there is a reason that their academy's send the awesome wrestlers to Tulsa, Reno, Liberty, and State High Schools, etc! You will learn something here - and you cannot forget it - it is drilled into every muscle in your body. When you are working on your stance for 45 minutes - I do not think you will forget your stance when you leave. They also give DVD's of everything they worked on when you leave the camp. How about 6 hours of leg riding? I can personally say this is the best camp that we have ever been too. This is not for kids that want to have fun - unless their idea of fun is winning future matches. No games - no goofing off, and we will ALL get it right - or we will have to skip part of the lunch hour!! KUDO'S to the Purler Organization!

I'm confused? Is this a folkstyle camp or FS/GR...If folk, why is it on this thread?

However, I think it would be awesome if they could come back and do an MEA camp or pre-season camp. With all the accolades from the people who went, I think the numbers would swell. Thanks for testing the waters for all of us!

The Camp had been advertised on the Guillotine for several weeks. It cost $250 and is worth every penny. It is being held at Macalister College of all places. Monday morning was a little rocky of a start because the camp is being done in the Ball Room (no gym), but once we got going it was kicked into over drive. A few boys from Shockapee (? spelling) showed up and then left. Guess their Dad didn't think it would be worth it because of the facility. Shouldn't have judged the book by its cover. I tell you what, they missed out on something that would have revolutionized their wrestling.

The web site to Purler is:

We have been to several camps over the years. This is the absolute best. The kids are exhausted at the end of the day, but they have learned more this week, than they did at the other three camps they attended this summer combined.

Every kid is going to come away a winner. Several of the Dad's have asked Joe (Nic's assistant) to come back to do a primer once the seaon starts.

To top it all off, we get a DVD of the entire camp! So, if you forget a move (which of us doesn't), you can review the step by step by step instruction.

These guys are awesome.

Thanks for attending and for the kind words about our camp and Foundation Wrestling // Purler Wrestling.

We will hold the camp again next summer and hope to do a great job.

Thanks again.
