Georges St-Pierre Vs. Jon Fitch Brock Lesnar Vs. Heath Herring Kenny Florian Vs. Roger Huerta Manny Gamburyan Vs. Rob Emerson Jason MacDonald Vs. Demian Maia Luke Cummo Vs. Tamdan McCrory Cheick Kongo Vs. Dan Evensen Andre Gusmao Vs. Jon Jones Chris Wilson Vs. Steve Bruno Ben Saunders Vs. Ryan Thomas I guess i'll take this time to say, as much as I watch and somewhat enjoy TUF, I hate seeing every card being filled with 3-4 guys from TUF. Some of them didn't even make the finals (Saunders and Emerson). I mean, I watch TUF to get my weekly fix of MMA, and I have nothing better to do on Wednesday nights... But its sort of getting old. |

GSP, Lesnar, Huerta is all Joe Silvia needed to make this a profitable event in Minnesota can't have all the best fighters on one card, can you? Not sure what your watching on tv, the TUF series starts in September. |

Quite clever Snow... I meant when TUF airs. (referring to when i watch it) And yes, I agree you can't have all the best fighters. I didn't mean to knock the card itself. But doesn't the UFC have a deeper talent pool then to sign every guy that gets on TUF? When it started, I thought the point was that if you won, you got a contract. Nowadays, if you make it to the quarterfinals, you're sitting pretty, looking at a decent contract (within UFC standards of course). I wish they would showcase more fighters that didn't get their fame from busting a house up, or getting drunk and acting crazy. (speaking of...) Jesse Taylor got released again after his losing against CB and making some remarks toward Rampage that the UFC didn't take a liking to. But the point of that extra addition to the initial post is that every time i look at a card, there's always 3-4 TUF guys, that aren't really even close to contenders, fighting against maybe another TUF opponent, or against a lower class fighter. I would personally prefer if they signed less of the TUF guys, but kept the real talented fighters from the show. (which is a limited amount of UFC-caliber athletes) EDIT: Also, thanks for slandering the english language with missing punctuation i know i cant have all the best fighters on one card I just dont enjoy watching lower level guys that got their fame from a reality tv show fight all the time when there is other talent to be discovered. <_< EDIT #2: ALSO, its Joe SILVA, not SILVIA. Thank you. |

I am actually kind of digging this card....these fights are keepers.... Georges St-Pierre Vs. Jon Fitch - Jon Fitch is the real deal...this will be an excellent battle but George will prevail. The pace will be fast paced from start to finish. Brock Lesnar Vs. Heath Herring --- this is a great match up for Brock...Heath is good at everything but great at nothing in particular...Brock will pound out a decision but it will not be a one sided affair. Kenny Florian Vs. Roger Huerta -- I am truly pulling for Huerta but I just don't thnk he is ready for Florian at this time...I think Florian will submit him in the secon round...but he will know he was in a battle. Manny Gamburyan Vs. Rob Emerson - I don't know if anyone is aware but Gamburyan just barely lost to Sherk in a match that went to overtime...this is a must see bout if you can get it on tape. Emerson is well rounded but will not be able to withstand the pressure that Gamburyan brings. Jason MacDonald Vs. Demian Maia ---this has potential to be fight of the night...Maia is undefeated and is coming off a convincing win over Joe Doerkson..just a brutal finish.... I think just these bouts alone will be the PPV buy value. |

You have no idea how long i laughed after reading that. (Dana's #1 NutHugger) wait, i can't say nuthugger, can i? I did, sorry mods. Like i said, i didn't mean it as a knock to the card. It truly is one of the better ones in the past year. Mine was more of a TUF complaint, which is off topic. My appologies. Except to Snow, he's not worthy of one. I'll let Dana feed him before he gets cranky again. |

A nuthugger or not the Fertitta's and Dana turned the UFC around...you got to give them that....they are providing a lot of opportunities for guys that are upcomers. Its unfortunate their current process seems not to reward those who have been around for awhile. |

I was just wondering if missed a season of TUF? Dana White has the greatest job in the world. Why does everybody rip on him like they could have done a better job with MMA? I agree if your saying he gets annoying and how they brag his bench press is getting up to 400lbs, which is almost as good an above ave. joe or Tiger Woods. I would have love to seen the boxing match between Tito and Dana happen. Thanks anyways Crop-Duster no need to appologies? edit: apologies. Remember this is the official thread of UFC87! |

I agree that Dana and Co. have turned the UFC 180 degrees around. But he isn't the only one that did it. The fighters had a helping hand as well. Without the fighters, there's no UFC, and without the UFC, the fighters have a more limited way of fighting and getting signed with other orgs. Snow, I may have read too far into your post. I apologize for attacking you personally as a Dana-fed NutHugger. Also, I should have shut my mouth about this, or moved the TUF/Dana/Pay More part to a new thread, sorry for getting off subject haha. |

Georges St-Pierre vs. Fitch: Fitch has proven he is worthy of his shot, but just not on the same level as GSP. This is a chance for Fitch to make his mark, anyone has a puncher's chance in the octagon, but i see GSP taking it with relative ease. GSP via Unanimous Decision Brock Lesnar vs. Heath Herring: I wasn't greatly impressed with watching Herring. He got owned by Nog. Yes, i know Nog is #2 in the world, and yes, i know he is the reigning UFC Champion, but he just doesnt look like he's good enough in any one area to take it to Brock. Brock via GnP TKO Stoppage in the 3rd (strikes) Kenny Florian vs. Roger Huerta: This is incredibly bias of me. Roger is one of my favorite fighters, and I can't bring myself to say he'll lose. KenFlo is a master of the elbow rub, and a great ground fighter, nonetheless. I see Roger trying to keep this fight standing and dismantles him in the 3rd winning. El Matador via Split-Decision Manny Gamburyan Vs. Rob Emerson: Manvel the Anvil will own Rob Emerson. His "in your face" brawling style is something to admire. Although, i think i saw somewhere he went to touch gloves, and inside kicked a guy. That's a jerk move. I think i saw it on themat.com with a GIF image of it. Either way, Gamburyan. Anvil via 1st round TKO stoppage (strikes) Jason MacDonald vs. Demian Maia: To be honest, I've heard very little about Maia. I have seen the Doerksen fight, and that was very impressive. I give it to him. Maia via KO in 2nd. (so i can add this, as i usually do... I hate some of the stupid monikers on the UFC like "The Athlete". Either have something BA and creative, or just use your name, please.) |

It appears tHE UFC and Huerta are having some issues this week....I hope this doesn't prove to be a distraction to Huerta http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles/media-relations-13894 I respect how Heura feels....its just he needs to pick his spots...keep this type of conversation behind closed doors....If he kicks Florians butt he will be on his way to greener pastures. |

Is it safe to say we're all apart of the El Matador Fan Club? haha EDIT: Read that article... Man, I would hate for Huerta to screw things up in this fight and get distracted. The UFC needs someone to stand up and get the message that they should be getting payed better out, but until its someone in decent with Dana, or someone that is a total superstar, nothing will change. |

Lesner has amazing power, that first punch was brutal. However he did look like he missed a lot of opportunities. |

GSP- Fitch : Mad props to Fitch for stickin in there, but thats exactly whats propelling GSP into P4P Rankings. Lesnar-Herring : Lesnar proves he can GnP... But does he need submission work when the opportunity comes? Yes. Gamburyan-Emerson : I've officially gave in and believed Emerson could do something in the next 10 yrs. Killer KO! Florian-Huerta : Florian out-fought him. I personally thought Florian was running away the whole time, but he just plain out-fought Roger. Maia-MacDonald : Great fight! Maia is the real deal... |

I was fortunate enough to be in attendance at this even. I have been watching the UFC since UFC 1 and have yet to miss one since that time in November of 1993, and this was the first time attending this event in person....there is only one word to describe the entire experience....AWESOME!!!! Our seats were absolutely perfect.myabe 10 yards from the ring...everyone was well behaved and the experience was unforgettable. It was cool seeing how the judges actually have several monitors in front of them so if the fighters are on the opposite side of the cage, they still can use the monitors to see the action. There were several large screen TV's on display, so those who were up in the rafters could still see the action. it was awesome watching the fighters share a beer togehter in the stands after the fights...Luke Cummo and Tamdan McCrory were sitting right beside me discussing there fight....They put on a grappling clince and it was great seeing them sharing a beer afterwords...this sport is the absolute greatest.....next to wrestling of course :D . |
