Carano-Cyborg will be such an awesome fight...it better be on a big card so they can showcase what women's MMA is all about. |

So who is watching tonight? reasons why I'm skeptical...: 1. The Shamrock-Kimbo "shove" after weigh-ins... (same old bull, new dive) 2. Gina Carano nearly missing weight, with a disappearing 1.5 lbs out of nowhere... 3. Daly-Sheils should get more attention then it does. but im busy... thoughts all? |

KImbo is the most over rated MMA fighter in the world wait til he fights someone who is actually good he will get his ass dominated. Also someone who is not nearing their 50th birthday |

It looks like the path just got a little longer....Seth was retired for a full year and hasn't been training at all up until 3 weeks ago. He got the call at approximately 2:00 pm central to inform him that his opponent would now be Kimbo instead of Aaron Rosa,....I wonder how much Seth got paid??? |

I got a chance to see the "fight" last night. It lasted about nine seconds. I imagine the folks at Elite will explain this away as a mulligan. He took the fight at the last minute and wasn't prepared for Petruzelli. The problem with the argument is that all Seth did was punch him on the chin. It's not like he took him down and threw in a triangle choke. If that had happened I might buy the "not prepared" argument, but the reality is Slice just isn't ready for this level yet. Now, Daley and Shields was a fun fight. I'd watch either of them fight again. Good stuff on the ground and standing up. I didn't see the cat fight. EDIT: I should mention they had an interview with Tito Ortiz who said he's signing with Elite soon. |

The bottomline is that Kimbo came in with his hands down and got clocked. He does that and he'll get KO'd in 14 seconds against any fighter with good hands. |

My vote for fight of the night was Benji Radach vs. Murilo "Ninja" Rua...these guys really brought it from the opening bell right to the end. It was a back and forth battle with Radach getting the TKO at 2:31 of the second round....This is what an MMA fight is supposed to look like. B) |

Did anyone catch Frank Shamrocks comments on Ken's sparring the day of the show? He basically called him an idiot and an ebarrassment to the Shamrock name.. :D ..who wants to bet on a Shamrock vs Shamrock matchup before years end? Me thinks the winner will take on Tito. |

I see Frank owning him, being Ken-Tito is dead... Frank-Tito... since Kimbo is virtually done... boy i love the mechanics of MMA. |

No word mincing there. He really blasted Ken. The fights were pretty good and went how I expected them for the most part, (minus the Kimbo fight) Daley did alright, I thought Shields would get him right away. Radach and Rua really went after it, that was a good. Alrovski is just an animal, but Nelson was doing alright and had me a little worried with his submission offense. |

Last week Ken was on the Jim Rome show and he said they have a beef because Frank disowned their adoptive father and treated him badly. Ken said he can't believe his brother would treat a man that did as much for them as their adoptive father did the way Frank did. He also said he'd like to fight Frank. |

...I think Shamrock vs Shamrock would draw incredible interest...they both talk so much garbage prior to fights...and the idea of two brothers pounding on each other on National TV would break the box office... Everyone who knows "anything" understands that Frank is 10 times the better fighter than Ken...so this will ultimately setup the Frank Shamrock vs Tito Ortiz rematch of 9 years ago. For those of you unfamiliar with the story....Ortiz was known as the Lion Den's tamer...even went so far as to flip off Ken after he disposed of Guy Metzger. Frank then representing the Lion's Den, fought against Tito, for the 'honor" of the Lion's Den. Frank ended up winning late in the fourth round...but not after taking a pretty brutal beating....Tito just flat out gassed. That's when he made a committment to never be out of shape....that's why he trains in Big Bear 8-12 weeks prior to each fight. CBS could really hype the story...they need to do something now that Kimbo has been knocked down a peg or three. |

Salaries for the ELITE XC card have been released. http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/slice-arl...-for-heat-14668 A last-minute gamble pocketed Seth Petruzelli $50,000 for his 14-second demolition of Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson Saturday at EliteXC “Heat” at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla., according to numbers released to Sherdog.com by the Florida State Boxing Commission. The pink-haired Floridian was set to face Aaron Rosa in a light heavyweight preliminary bout that evening before EliteXC officials approached Petruzelli (10-4) with the offer to replace a medically suspended Ken Shamrock in the heavyweight main event, which aired live on CBS. Petruzelli’s earnings included a $15,000 win bonus. Slice took in $500,000 to help ease the first blemish of his short but explosive career. Slice (3-1) missed out on a $100,000 win bonus. Heavyweight Andrei Arlovski (14-5) also netted $500,000 for his second-round shellacking of former International Fight League champion Roy Nelson (13-3), who was paid $80,000. Both fighters were compensated by Affliction Entertainment, which co-promoted the bout with EliteXC, and did not have reported win bonuses. EliteXC welterweight kingpin Jake Shields (22-4-1) earned $50,000 ($40,000/$10,000 win bonus) for his successful first title defense against British bomber Paul Daley (18-7-2), who took in $12,000. Female MMA’s brightest star, Gina Carano (7-0), took home $25,000 ($15,000/$10,000 bonus) for her rousing three-round unanimous decision over the game Kelly Kobold (16-3-1) in their 140-pound contest. Kobold earned $6,000. Middleweights Benji Radach and Murilo "Ninja" Rua opened the live CBS event with a bang, with Radach (19-4) finishing the former EliteXC champion in the second round via ground strikes. Radach garnered $30,000 ($15,000/$15,000 win bonus) for his efforts, while the fallen Pride attraction Rua (16-9-1) earned $35,000. Other EliteXC payouts included: Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos -- $4,000/$4,000 win bonus Yoko Takahashi -- $2,000 Conor Heun -- $2,500/$2,500 win bonus James Edson Berto -- $6,000 Mikey Gomez -- $2,000/$2,000 win bonus Lorenzo Borgomeo -- $1,500 David Gomez -- $1,000 Bryan Hamade -- $500/$500 win bonus Jorge Boechat -- $1,000 Nicolae Cury -- $750/$750 win bonus |

I can see the hype of shamrock/shamrock fight, but I don't know how much it could be worth, because Frank would absolutely tool Ken. |

Both of the Shamrocks are incredible at hyping fights...could you just imagine the prefight press conferences...You just know they would be talking so much garbage and they truly don't like each other...and utlimately it would end up like any Ken Shamrock fight...with him sniffing smelling salts. I think they need to have this fight prior to the Frank vs Tito fight...and although they would sell it as winner fights Tito....we know who will end up fighting Tito  |

Watching the video of Slice getting rocked, I'm embarrassed for Elite XC. First of all the ring announcer announced the fight as a "special attraction", basically telling everyone this is a spectacle, not a legit primetime fight. Then the ref has to mention CBS and elite xc in his pre fight conference with the fighters. Do they ever do that in UFC? Finally, the tv announcers calling it the most spectaclutar win in the history of MMA?  |

Those of you denouncing Kimbo Slice so much must not have watched much MMA. If you have, you would realize that nobody stays undefeated (aside from the greatest of the greats) in this sport. Anyne can get caught. I am not saying Kimbo is great at all, just that this one fight does not prove he is a fraud. |

It looks like Elite Xc execs might not be so clueless after all...it appears there was a plan "B" http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles/shamr...ith-slice-14730 If Kimbo wins, he just beat a legend. If Ken wins, its setting up a fight between Ken and Frank Shamrock. Apparently Frank has been trying to put this fight together for two years. Again this is Frank just "talking" but it appears he wanted to step up and fight Kimbo...the mindset being "Ken's little brother steps up out of the booth to fight Kimbo" Quote from sherdog article. [“The whole show was about laying the ground for [Frank] Shamrock versus [Ken] Shamrock,” he said. On an extended losing streak, Ken’s ability to sell the long-rumored bout with his brother has become questionable at best. Frank picked Ken to defeat Slice and build momentum for a match between them, but the elder Shamrock’s withdrawal from the fight may have derailed their big-money bout for good. Promoting the fight on CBS seems completely out of the question, as the network was “not happy” with Ken, who has not won since 2004. “The worst thing that could have ever happened was [for] Ken not get in the ring,” Frank said. “Two and a half years for me, I’ve been working on this once-in-a-lifetime event. If it doesn’t happen, it’ll be terrible for everybody, I think.” |
