I have to call shenanigans on UFC.com. Cole Miller won by an inverted Triangle Choke, but I didn't get credit for picking a choke. |

I got 143, good for second in my league (out of the three guys that remembered to pick). Not getting awarded for the choke pick in Miller vs. Lauzon (apparently it was officially listed as an arm lock) screwed me over. |

Final tally... 1 Rushpile 209 2 PHERSY 191 3 xhockeydad 191 4 Wrestler1095 189 5 CropDuster 147 6 Chimo123 144 7 RuiCoasta 142 8 Sharkey No Play Although Phersy and I were tied for second it appears I have been assigned third position....obviously the second criteria for ranking is based on IQ... Rushpile's call on the Daley vs Hazlett fight was pure genious and earned him first place....he called it right to the second.... |

Yep, congrats to rushpile. I went the wrong way on that fight, thinking Hazlett could get it to the ground. ... XHD we should be happy with our tie! At least we're not Duster. |

190 for me, first in my league. I find it hard to believe that anyone would have gotten more than 5 points on the Thiago Tavares/Nik Lentz fight. |

So what's everyone thinking about....What's going to happen during the Coleman vs Couture fight? Couture really has appeared to slow down over his last couple of fights...footwork has never been the best but he just looks really unfomfortable on his feet as compared to when he fought Chuck.. |

I read a good review of UFC 109 on UFC Shark. I happen to agree with thier assesment of the battle between the old guys (did I ever say I enjoy old guys competing ;) ) Both Coleman and Couture are past thier prime, but both are still very capable of competing near the top of the division. This would have been an awesome fight 10 years ago. Today it may still be great but I would have loved to see these two in a matchup when they were in thier early 30s. I am guessing it ends is in a stoppage in the third round wtih Coleman gassing a little. The writeup from UFC Shark is shown below: The “Godfather of Ground and Pound” Mark Coleman was known early in his career for just that. He won a heavy-weight title and two tournaments with ground and pound, the guy is a legend in the sport. The problem with Coleman is the wear and tear the sport has had on his body, he is always hurt. If you can’t properly train because of injury it will hurt your cardio, and let’s not forget he pulled out of his UFC 106 bout. I’ve got to give credit to Coleman though he completely destroyed Stephan Bonnar in his last fight at UFC 100. Five time UFC champion Randy Couture got a win in his last outing controlling Brandon Vera from the clinch for three rounds. He’s always been known for his dirty-boxing and even at the age of 46 still gets it done. Randy has been dropped in each of his last three fights (Vera, Nog, and Brock) but was only finished by Brock Lesnar at UFC 91. I don’t think Mark Coleman will be able to ground and pound his way to victory at UFC 109. Randy is no joke when it comes to grappling either, even though Mark Coleman won their wrestling match at Olympic Festival at Oklahoma State, by one point in 1989. If Coleman can’t maintain top control, he won’t win, plain and simple, and Randy’s too good to be laid on for three rounds. The prediction for “Randy Couture vs. Mark Coleman”-Randy Couture is able to ride out another decision win. |

That just passed Karo Parisyan's song and Brandon Vera's oh-so-sarcastic "Thanks, judges." as my favorite post-fight moment ever. As for me, I got 4th in my league with 175. Our resident village idiot nailed 5 fights and got 245. |

This was a tough one to call. I really thought that Ronys Torres was going to beat Melvin Guillard. He took some tough shots and kept going. I'd like to watch him again once he improves on keeping guys on the mat |

Really? I've seen Guillard fight and he's quite explosive. I thought he'd end it early. I was also the only one in my league to pick Maia to win by decision, but for some reason I had him winning by split decision. That cost me about 20 points. I also thought Serra and Trigg were going to go the distance. That was stupid. Come to think of it, I'm not sure how I ended up getting 175. Coming in August 2010: Mark Coleman vs. Tito Ortiz and Joe Rogan vs. the guys that spilled the ice in the Octagon during the Guillard/Torres fight. :P |

Mark Coleman was talking to Joe Rogan then quickly turned around to crowd and started saying something. Then Rogan said it was Tito Ortiz yelling at him. Coleman grabbed the mic and said something along the lines of, " F**k You, Douche Bag." I haven't seen what was said or the reasoning behind Ortiz yelling stuff at him |

1) I didn't think it was going to be a very good card coming in, but there were some pretty good fights. Chael Sonnen wrestled his way to a title shot. 2) I think Tito shouted something like "I'll kill you motherf***er!" |

Sonnen truley impressed..... I guess its hard to escape from an olympic level wrestler, Marquart seemed very puzzeled for much of the fight..... I also loved the Phil Davis fight, although he looked pretty akward on his feet, that leg riding was just a thing of beauty, watching him carry it over to MMA and just dominat with it is pretty cool... |
