The crazy thing is, I was still like 200th overall. The only fight I nailed was the Jon Madsen vs. Mostapha al Turk fight, of all things. If Matt Hughes could have held off on Renzo for 15 more seconds I would have nailed that one too. Oh well.

The scores from our league:

1 Matrat103 167
2 SixPackJack 139
3 Punchy_McPunch 112
4 MnGrown69 106
5 Wandy 4 Life 76

Wandy is our resident UFC guru, and for some reason he picked Maia to beat Silva. Otherwise we would have run a clean sweep on you guys :P

In my defense....I picked Phil Davis's choke in the exact minute he did it.....so that was pretty lucky.....

Also......I seriously dont think Frankie Edgar did enough to win the belt....if you sit there and count the punches landed (becasue its was a total boxing match), BJ kills for the first round or two.....then he starts to fade , but as a genral rule of thumb I just feel like you should have to really beat the man to be the champ......this was just like Shogun and Machida.......BJ should have retained, and Ill bet he finishes edgar in the rematch.....

Silva=Turd Wheres Dan Henderson when you need him? Oh yeah, on CBS

I only got 101, our league winner got 157. Not a good card. Very entertaining though.

Machida is the result of a very large marketing campaign by the UFC. That hi-ya stuff has never worked from the begining in cage fighting.....you cant stick and move forever.....

I really stink at picking the way fights will end......I think I have a good percentage in picking the winners but I suck none the less...... no excuses though, I'm coming back strong next time

i won two events in a row, and then promptly returned to stinking with my picks.

I still get a kick out of it, but man, I need to get a system.......

that card was unexpectedly good..... All 5 fights were entertaining. I think the main event lived up, it was a pretty good fight. Hathaway, Brilz, and Rossow, were fun to cheer for, I love an upset and there were plenty..... considering there was no title fights all night, I was happy with the show

I was up at the lake this weekend, where we only get CBS and ABC, so I didn't see any of the fights, but I won my league with 194. Nailed the Rashad/Rampage fight and the Riley/Brammer fight on the undercard. I was surprised to see that Sadollah got dominated by Kim and even moreso that Hathaway beat Sanchez. I changed my mind on the Russow/Duffee and Jensen/Forbes picks and ended up getting them both wrong (I even had Jensen winning by choke before switching to Forbes). 194 is nothing to complain about though :P

Yes, same for me....I had all the right picks, then changed them at the last second, to get the crappy score I have now.

or not....

I stand behind all my crappy picks...the guys I picked should have won, but they didn't...I am not at fault...they are.

My league's scores:
1 punchy_Mcpunch 152
2 Wandy 4 Life 145
3 matrat103 117
4 MnGrown69 111

I was like 4 for 11 on my actual picks, but I nailed the Rothwell/Yves fight so that saved my bacon.

Chuck's gotta call it quits after that fight, that was rough to watch.

I think I accidentally reported you when I was just trying to reply to your post....can you say

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB

I don't agree with your take on Chuck calling it quits.

I don't think he ever looked better. He was mixing in leg kicks, great movement, strikes were landing at will, even executed an "ACTUAL" takedown....a beauty at that....

Actually I thought Chuck was on his way to ending the fight in the last 10 seconds...

BUT...

In typical Chuck fashion, he over committed/extended himself and Rich caught him with a perfect counter right on the button.

I dont' know if everyone agrees with me, but I think Chuck could become the official gate keeper for the light heavy weight division...."To become a legend, you have to beat a legend", I can just hear Goldberg singing it right now.....along with "legacy" and "cerebral" thrown in Intermittently

Well, I'm still here, so they must not have taken you seriously :P

I agree with your idea of being the official gatekeeper, because he did look good during the fight with Rich. But then again, isn't that what Keith Jardine is for?

In any case, I think he'd like another shot at beating Tito up before calling it quits. I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Forrest either. The UFC could really hype that up, an original Ultimate Fighter coach vs. an original Ultimate Fighter.

Chris Leben has stepped in to replace Wanderlei Silva in his fight with Yoshihiro Akiyama. Adjust your picks accordingly.

I don't understand this new scoring system at all. I scored 98 (which is apparently decent according to this new system), but I am currently getting 0 points for nailing Jacob Volkmann's UD win over Paul Kelly, or for picking Jones and Ellenberger to win.

Tyson Griffin, you're breaking my balls.

Doesn't it take a while for the system to get all the results correct? Just checked how I did and I also nailed the Volkman fight but it says I got them all wrong and 0 points for the fight? I'm a bit confused.

Ah, it's fully updated now. I got 165, good for 60th place overall. Beat the other guy in my league by a solid 60 points as well. I'm still not sure if I like this system of getting more points for picking the underdog. Example: I picked Ellenberger to beat Howard, and that was the only thing I got right about that fight. I got 16 points. I picked Charles Oliviera to beat Darren Elkins, and that was the only thing I got right about that fight. I got 24 points.

Oh well, I suppose it'll come in handy for my Chael Sonnen pick for Saturday's fights.

Update on the Tyson Griffin situation: He's still breaking my balls.

I kind of like the upset thing, it gives me incentive to do things like pick Sonnen...I wonder how many points I will get if he pulls it off.....it oughta be like 485274563658
