I have mixed emotions about Dana...I am very thankful for what he and The Fertitta brothers have done with the UFC...but that tough guy shtick he plays, although entertaining, isn't the kind of stuff you would expect a owner of a multi billion dollar company to be ponying up... Entertaining quotes from Dana off yesterday's show... “We give you guys alcohol because you’re grown men,” said White. “It also gives the ability to look in and see who’s a f---up, and you’re definitely a f---up.” His conversation with Shane Nelson... Then White turned his attention to Shane Nelson: “Where’s Shane?” “You’re a drunken retard too.” I almost fell of my chair laughing :D  :D |

Since you all love Junie Browning so much
:) here's his blog this week. Junie Browning’s Ultimate Fighter Blog – Week TwoBy Junie Allen Browning A NIGHT TO REMEMBER…OR FORGET UFC 84 was pretty cool. Me and Shane (Nelson) were pretty excited after BJ (Penn) beat (Sean) Sherk. When it comes to the rest of the night, I did remember quite a bit of what happened, and after watching it again, it all came back to me. We were just playing around at first – the whole thing with Shane (Primm) and when I knocked off John Polakowski’s hat, that was just playing around, and we goofed around with all the red shirts. It started getting serious when Kyle threw the peanuts in my face and I threw the glass back at him. It was actually somewhat of an accident that I hit him like that. I thought it was gonna land on the side of him, and I was pretty close to him, so I didn’t think the glass would break. I think he moved his elbow when I threw it, and the elbow made the glass break. After that I definitely thought I was out of there, so I figured I’d have a big bang before I left. I got into it a bit with some of the light heavyweights, and people think I was crazy for doing that, but I still would – I guess I have a little bit of a small man’s complex. But really, I was just trying to help the 205ers practice. When I front kicked Tom (Lawlor), everyone had this misconception. I was helping him defend front kicks. The next day we spent the whole day working on front kicks. I was also doing pull-ups on (Ryan) Bader’s shirt by the pool – I wanted to work on my biceps - and I was defending people getting my back. They just edited it wrong, we were just practicing. When it was over though, I started packing my bags that night, and it wasn’t necessarily getting kicked off the show that was concerning me the most; it was what the guys thought, because I acted like such an idiot. The show tends to make you look more like an idiot than sometimes you are, because a lot of that stuff started off as a joke. Me throwing the peanuts, they were throwing them back at me, and they didn’t show none of that. But I still thought I was gone. The next day, I just started shooting around on the basketball court. I figured Dana (White) was gonna be around there sometime soon, and I felt pretty bad, so I shot ball a bit and tried to stay away from some of the guys because I think they were all a little scared. The speech from Dana was a little bit longer than what they showed, and the whole time, I was like ‘man, I wish he’d go on and kick me out because this is starting to hurt.’ It was pretty bad. And when he said he wasn’t kicking me off, I couldn’t believe it at first. I figured there would be a catch, like I would have to move up weight classes so they could start matching me up with all the 205ers. The reaction of the guys in the house to me not getting kicked off the show was actually the complete opposite of what their confessionals were saying. Most of the guys were supportive. They came up to me and told me that it was okay, and they knew that it was just the alcohol talking. They knew I had problems and stuff, and I think a lot of the people on the show are probably just as crazy, but when the cameras are on them they get sorta shy. I didn’t let the cameras determine how I acted. After that night, I said I’m gonna stay away from anything hard when it came to alcohol, even though I wasn’t drinking every night anyway. I drank that first night when I came to the house, the night on this week’s episode, and maybe one or two more times, and that’s it. And back at home, I may drink sometimes, but I never act like I did on the show. ROLLING WITH EFRAIN It was the day before the weigh-ins for our first fights, and I actually had a sauna suit and sweats on. Efrain had shorts and a t-shirt on, with wrestling shoes, and for some reason during the show, he was trying to say he was cutting weight too, but he didn’t have sweats on or anything, so he wasn’t cutting that much. And I rolled with like ten people and then I went over to him and said ‘hey, let’s do some takedowns and a little bit of ground and stuff,’ just so I could cut more weight. I was already dead, and he really wouldn’t do nothing. He wouldn’t push the action or anything, and I finally started shooting in, and he caught a few guillotines and that was it. So I said, ‘let’s start on the ground,’ and I caught him in a calf-cutter, I almost had him in a twister, and I was passing his guard and everything. But then when he was in the house, he was trying to run his mouth and tell everyone, ‘I subbed Junie’, and it was starting to piss me off. I would have liked to have fought him right there in front of the couch. ESCUDERO VS NELSON I was real confident Shane was gonna win his fight against Efrain. The only thing that really concerned me was exactly what happened. The week before was when we all got drunk and did all that stuff, so Shane wasn’t in the best shape, and that’s what concerned me. I knew Efrain was gonna be in good shape. He was on Team Nogueira and they trained pretty hard. Looking back, I don’t think Shane was ready for that fight. I still thought he was gonna win it, but I wish he was a little more prepared for it. In the fight itself, I was pretty sure Efrain had it because he was on top pretty much the whole time, and that’s his gameplan. He tries to not get knocked out standing up, and then just lays on people. He did catch the triangle after that whole thing of me screaming that he’s just a wrestler, but until the point that he got the triangle, all he was doing was laying on him and I knew he was gonna win on points if he didn’t sub him. POST-FIGHT After the fight I said what I said, which I shouldn’t have, but after I said it, Efrain always has like a smart-ass smirk and he started pointing at me and saying stuff. I don’t know what he said, but whatever it was, it made me want to punch him in his face. The only reason I jumped over the fence was because the door was too far away and I didn’t think I could run through the cage, so I thought it might be a little safer to go over it. POST-EPISODE THOUGHTS I thought the episode was pretty bad-assed and very entertaining. I’m glad I could sacrifice myself for the sake of entertainment. I did watch it with my coach, Mike O’Donnell, and he thinks I’m an idiot. He’s pretty much my counselor and therapist, and if he was there, he probably would have knocked me out before I started acting like that. FAN REACTION Every week I do a guest appearance for the show, and it’s always packed completely with all the local people, especially the girls, so that’s pretty awesome. I don’t have to pay to get into any place now, I get a lot more phone numbers, and I’m still as ugly as I was before I went on the show, so it has to be something to do with the show. It’s funny, but I went on the forums after last week’s show, and I didn’t think that week’s episode was that bad – I thought it was sorta goofy – and the reaction was pretty crazy. This week, I don’t know what they’re gonna say. It doesn’t bother me though; as long as they’re talking. Love me or hate me, they’re saying my name. |

Watching Anderson Silva train was absolutely awe inspiring...he is so quick, and the funky kick and punch combos he was throwing from all angles had to be seen to be believed. He says likes coaching more than fighting...that's our loss.
:( Krzysztof Soszynski will probably end up getting killed prior to the next fight...just a little too much time on his hands. I like NOG even more after this episode..it appears he really cares about the fighters. I like the fact that he came to the house to talk to the guys about easing up on the pranks...shows he cares a little bit. I can't figure out why Nog picked Primm to fight Marshall...that was about as once sided as a fight could have been. I think Primm thought he could cinch up the clinch relatively easy and he ended up being put on his back...it was all but over at that point.. The good news is Junie is fighting next week...the bad news is it is Roli Delgado who appears to have gotton is black belt in Jiu Jitsu out of a cracker jack box. |

I hope Junie gets tooled sooo bad. I want him to lose just to see all the crazy drama he stirs up once he knows he has chance at winning. Well that, and because of all his glaring defects of character. |

Junie was pathetic tonight, even worse than Roli who was obviously not a fighter. Junie took this fight too lightly, was 2lbs over, then he couldn't even back up his mouth. He only landed about 20% of his punches and looks like he has no ground game at all. I don't see Dana forgiving too many more outbursts by Junie after this performance. |

Junie did not win the impressive fashion his big mouth said he was gonna. He did not look good standing against a fighter with pretty lousy stand-up. He can stuff horrible shots, and take jabs. He won't make it to the finals. |

It looked like the 5 inch reach difference confused Junie to begin with..not sure what his strategy was in the first round....but it didn't work...I scored it first round Roli He looked much better in the second...looked like he was going to finish Roli at one point....second round Junie I thought Roli landed way more shots in the third...but Junie landed much harder shots....I scored it second round Roli Both these guys will get absolutely destroyed in the 155 lbs class..just take Spencer Fisher for example...probably one of the mid tier guys...Could you imagine what would happen if either of these clowns got in the ring with him? Yes, it would be entertaining...much like watching a train wreck or a Nascar car wreck. They both have a lot of work to do. ;) |

Wow.....what a garbage episode...the best moment of the show was R.I.P. headstone on Bruchez bed... Bruchez looked absolutely terrified during the fight and Magalhaes standup was mediocre at best... You would think, with all the talent that is out there, they could find guys better than Bruchez...Magalhaes is a top 5 Jui Jitsu guy, so I understand he is work in progress...but Bruchez?? Yikes. <_< |

It appears our interest in the TUF season has died... Actually this episode was pretty good...It was funny seeing a drunken Kaplan get knocked unconcious by Tom Lawler...seeing him trying to get to his feet afterward was absolutely priceless. The coaches challenge was funny to watch as well. Mir seems to think pretty highly of himself. Both of them were pathetic at soccer...Dana summed it up by saying Mir would only attempt to stop a goal from being scored as long as it didn't risk messing his hair up. I am really starting to like Nog...you really get a sense that if you are a part of Nog's camp you have the support from all the team members....not so much with Mir's squad. It was nice seeing Soszynski win the fight...he looked pretty good on the ground. It would be great if he made it into the finals. |

Kaplan... that cat is funny... he was KO'd... no matter how much he doesnt think he was. Mir is just ungodly cocky. i find myself wanting to grab a noose every episode really. I hope Nog out groundfights him and puts him to sleep quickly. Nog was much better only because he tried unlike that girly Mir. Sosynzki-Bader seems like a final choice really... depending on how this week's semi's work out... Polkowski or whatever fights this week, that should be somewhat interesting. I'm trying to get into the season, but im always dead asleep by the Wednesday episode, and read about it online. it just isnt the same. |

Oh my gosh, I couldn't stand Mir. He was saying how if played soccer he would have tooled Noguira but the funny part was, Nog beat him at something he didn't really play either, so he's not "200 times" the athlete that Mir says he is. When he first started that talk I kind tilted my head like "Is this guy for real?" like I thought he was joking around or something, but he was totally serious. Really hope Nog makes him look dumb. |

Yeah everyone was making a huge deal about the fact that Nog was Brazillian therefore good at soccer, and Nog's like,"No, everyone in Brassssil play soccer... I however did not." (paraphrasing of course). put these nukkaz on a mat, first to tap or sleep loses. 10grand goes to the winner. Yeah, Dana... Yeah... |

...they really need to do something to revamp the show to bring back the interest....I think bringing back the team challenges might be a good idea? It just seems that the show seems to be focusing on the negative...I am sure every MMA nube thinks that the majority of the fighters are all drunken psychopaths...this is good for the sport? |

I must agree, XHD. (that rhymes). Team Challenges would make this a better show... hopefully for next year's UK vs USA haha! and no... they say there is no such thing as bad publicity, but the last thing they need is for everyone's preconceived thoughts on fighters in general to be proven on national television. |

Alright...lets try to generate a little enthusiasm about the TUF season....lets get this thread going.. John Polakowski seems like a genuinely nice guy..I am not sure what that actually means to the MMA world...but it looks like they are really trying to sell it. It also appears as though he is a pretty good fighter as well. George Roop showed the toughness I look for in a fighter. It would have been easy to just bow out of the fight...his hand looked totally jacked. But he did everything he could to make sure he would be in the ring...props out to ROOP!! It was a great battle.. Polakowski has really good hands and Roop looked really good on the ground. I had the first round going to Roop and the second going to Polakowski...apparently the judges felt otherwise. Come on guys, chime in...I think the next couple of weeks should have some quality fights. B) |

Wow, I can't believe this hasn't already been talked about. Three fights were on tonight. It was very satisfying to see Junie lose. It was one of my favorite moments ever in reality TV. He's such a baby. I just wanted to see him cry like he was drunk. I want Bader to beat Vinny in the finals, but I don't see it happening. Nover and Efrian should be a really good fight too, both guys seem legit so I hope they both end up doing good after the show. |
