MMAWeekly.com has obtained the fighter salary information from the Nevada State Athletic Commission for UFC 91 featuring Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar, which took place on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The following figures are based on the fighter salary information that promoters are required by law to submit to the state athletic commissions, including the winners' bonuses.

Although mixed martial arts fighters do not have collective bargaining or a union, the fighters' salaries are still public record, just as with every other major sport in the United States. Any undisclosed bonuses that a promoter also pays its fighters, but does not disclose to the athletic commissions (specifically, pay-per-view bonuses, fight of the night bonuses, etc.), are not included in the figures below.

In the listings below, "Main Event Fighters" are defined as fighters who compete in the main event of a show. "Main Card Fighters" are defined as fighters whose fights appear on the main card, but not in the main event. "Preliminary Card Fighters" are defined as fighters whose matches take place before the live broadcast goes on the air, regardless of whether or not those matches end up airing on the TV or Internet broadcast.

MAIN EVENT FIGHTERS

– Brock Lesnar ($450,000/win bonus was $200,000) def. Randy Couture ($250,000/win bonus would have been $250,000)

– Dustin Hazelett ($28,000/win bonus was $11,000) def. Tamdan McCrory ($10,000/win bonus would have been $10,000)
*Hazelett also earned an extra $60,000 for “UFC 91 Submission of the Night”

– Demian Maia ($40,000/win bonus was $20,000) def. Nate Quarry ($25,000/win bonus would have been $25,000)

He probably wants a few more of those fights so he can start getting back to his WWE income levels, though I doubt that would be possible in MMA unless he starts ramping up the endorsements.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if he currently has any endorsement deals?

DeathClutch.
Its a clothing company that makes his shirts and shorts.
Also, if you would like a shirt, according to advertisements, you can get them at Spencer Gifts... Well, you can get that among other things while you're shopping :)

Actually, it will be higher as I believe he also gets a % of the PPV take.

I don't think he cares about making ridiculous money. I don't know what he made in the WWE, I'm sure it was a lot, but he was also on the road something like 300 days a year. I would guess he is okay with 450k a fight plus bonuses and endorsements. In UFC, he gets to be at home probably 90-95% of the time. I know he likes that!

Every time he talks on the radio or such I hear him talking up Jack Link's Beef Jerky. I also remember him wearing some apparel with that on it so I would assume they sponsor him.

yep Jack Links are a backer of Brock. I just got a shirt in the mail from him and see Jack is a pretty big one on the back, awesome shirt.

Money is nice , Brock still likes to compete and train. I'm sure the pay days will get bigger here soon and I would like to think Marty is thinking the same as well.

It has been reported that both Brock and Randy made much more then reported base salaries. PPV percentages. Not to mention sponsorship dollars.

Pretty good, I think, for a winner on the prelim card to get at least $8k.

bob, I think we are all a little crazy....... period :D  :D

some of us are just a little more touch on the brain the rest

I did about a htree year tour of pounding with Travis and always have checked in on this post as I'm also a big fan of logan and was on the same team at the OTC with Randy and Henderson who both have been at my house for chow Back in the day.

I love this sport, always thought I was 12 years to late. Had papers to sign for a fight with Dan Severn back in 94,when it just started but back then it was looked at as a FUDU sport.
The place I worked for then(still do) had a Lawyer that thought it was a risk to be known as a fighter and a Law dog. (Law suits)

Just got caught up in a few post.........dang Java will do that HAHA!

The money it is in now is crazyyyyyyyyy! Back then I think I remember the paper work saying $5,000 main card ect with a few bonus areas.
Mine was a under card for Shamrock and Gracey at $1,000 and a win of $500 for bonus and if I won I got a fight in japan for a healthy some......at that time $10,000.
I remember the fight was baesed off the fight we got into after I beat him at a regional Olympic qualifier in Nebraska to go on to the trial latter.
He was a little upset with my knee knock downs in the Greco match  and followed me into the locker room......OH the good old days.......we bent some lockers up that day :P

Some of the rules I remember reading in that contract, if it would have been in a affect in that locker room that day I would have been about 2,400 in the hole.
You kicked in the head with shoes- 500 fine
You bit someone 1,000 fine/possible D.Q.
You kicked in the nether regions- 100 fine.

Jeff Blannick was the announcer then and told me I had to loose weight so I looked better for marketing.......I remember telling him I aint no model......I bring the red neck not the lip stick......he laughed and said that I may need to talk with the promoters(Gracey's).

sorry a bit off the topic :(

Fun stuff !

Nog was the interim champ when Couture and UFC were at each other throats....the interim champ fell to the way side when Couture and UFC made up....truly Nog should have had the first crack at Couture, but Brock got the shot instead.
