So they're starting to announce fights for UFC 95. A couple of interesting ones already announced ... Diego Sanchez in his debut at 155 against Joe Stevenson. Now don't get me wrong, I like this fight, and it's a fight I'm excited to see. But they're saying this is going to be the main event. I hope that changes. That's not a main event type of fight, if you ask me. Again, it's a good fight. I'm excited to see how Diego does at 55. But main event??? If it stays that way, this better be a free card! Also announced is Demian Maia vs. Chael Sonnen. Man, I can't wait for this one. If Maia can get it to the ground, Sonnen is in trouble. But I don't know if Maia will be able to get it to the ground. It will be a great test for Maia, and the winner should be darn close to a title shot. I know it's Sonnen's first fight since moving over from the WEC, but I think he's already proven to be a world-class fighter. |

Not only that, but Marquardt-Gouviea(spelling?) is supposed to be on that card too! Maybe it will be a tv card if thats the main event and in england??? Diego at 155 could be nuts, man! Him and Joe Daddy should have a war. Chael Sonnen getting his first UFC fight agains DMaia... Another GREAT fight with some crazy opportunities if either wins. Hoping for DMaia on this one via crazy jits. Where you getting this info, PM? What site do you use? |

That's the one, XHD! mmaweekly.com is pretty much the only one I check daily. But I read mmajunkie.com every so often, too, and then the UG when I get a chance. Never been a fan of sherdog, so I stay far, far away. |

Sanchez Vs Stevenson is a fine main event as long as it is not a PPV card. If it is a PPV card all that it says is that this will not be one of there bigger events in 09. You have Mega Cards big time main events and just the main event caliber fighters that are top fights but not huge draws. Every card cant have a Chuck Liddell Vs W. Silva. |

With the names they now have in their org, yes, every card should have what you are calling a "mega" fight on it. With five belts, why should there not be a title fight on every single card??? |

I agree with you PM...should be a title fight on every card...and quite frankly I am kind of disappointed that Sanchez and Stevenson are headlining...there are a lot better match ups out there to justify my 50 bucks. <_< |

But the UFC can continue to do this as long as nobody is pushing them. Right now, they are on top and people will most likely bow out and pay for whatever card they put on. |

In most cases ppvs have a title fight on them, but with injuries, TUF and fighters taking some time off, your not going to get a title fight on every card. PPVs usually have at least 1 title fight and/or a big name match. The UFC makes alot less for a spike tv program as compared to a PPV. Thus you are not going to get a ton of highly paid fighters on the card. Most PPVs have big fights at the top. Lets put it this way. If the UFC put on 12 cards a yr and had 1 title fight and 2 other super fights on each card like this past one, We would have 36 big time fights for the yr. Or we could get what we have now. 15 or so PPvs 10 Spike shows. thats 25 Cards for the yr. if we can get the same 36 Super Fights isnt that a better deal? The same amount of Super Fights if you will and 13 more cards to enjoy. |

This better not be a PPV card. It would be a great TV card, but pretty weak PPV. I'll skip this one if it's a PPV. |
