He had a great year...but I wouldn't have picked him as the fighter of the year. Don't get me wrong...beating Matt Hughes is quite an accomplishment...but he also didn't make weight for the fight. <_<

I would pick Jorge Santiago he had five victories over 5 extrremely good guys..Kazuo Misaki, Kazuhiro Nakamura, Siyar Bahadurzada, our very own "Pink Pounder", and Yuki Sasaki.

What does everyone else think?

I get your thoughts on Santiago, but only one of those fighters is even ranked in the top 20. Maybe Prangley too. Santiago has had a very nice yr, but I wouldnt say him.

Alves may have won the best list of fighters then anyone else. He also did it in dominating fashion.

I would say Mousasi or Rashaad Evens or alves
Mousasi had tougher comp then Santiago
Evans won the top belt in the world and he had to dominating KOs over top 10 fighters one who was #1. Alves won three top 10 guys, but I too have a big problem with a guy who misses weight by 8 or 9 pounds and wins that nite. It was not the first time either.

This is a tough yr.

If Brock beats Mir and wins the title it could have been him undefeated yr 1 and the title.
