Is anyone watching this? I watched it last night around 12ish, praying my school would cancel... That made for a longgggggggg day today... But the jist of it is chronicalling the road to peaking for the fight between them. So far, we've found out that BJ likes to take vacations, and that he's a lazy-@$$... but also likes to talk immense crap. Also, BJ is a rich kid who got everything handed to him, and used his money to make the best of his opportunities, and is coming back from almost pissing away everything. On the other side, GSP trains like a maniac, and doesn't talk has as much #$^%. He has a good time, but doesn't use mind-altering chemicals (as much as i've seen), and just loves to fight. Is anyone getting a different vibe? Is anyone watching? Does anyone else hate to listen to Dana speak so much that they mute it like i do? :D |

Bj said gsp had no heart? That pissed any one who watches fighting off. I mean even if your a fan of bj's, what do you think when he talks so much trash as to say he has no heart?? I think the man might have the most heart in the ufc from the looks of his acomplishments. I hope Gsp wins this fight and shows how much heart he has, win or lose thow he is still a great champion! I see him winning by being a more dominate stronger fighter.. he doesn't have to convince people who he is .. bj is an amazing fighter but alot of times he seems like he has to try to convince people "mostly himself" that he is great... in my opinion GSP has more mental toughness. |

I agree I hope GSP kicks the sh** out of bj. What is he thinking taking a 5 day break 3 weeks out from one of the biggest fight's in mma. I think BJ is an EGO Maniac and deserves to get pounded!!! BJ will see how big GSP's heart really is. |

You kind of wonder if the UFC writers are trying to stir the pot a little with some controversy. <_< ..Any one who knows me realizes I am not a big BJ Penn supporter, but you have to think that he is smart enough to realize the GSP will be his biggest challenge to date. |

Joey & Jake clark were just out in Hawaii training with him. Jake is still out there until the fight and it is true 5 days off about one week ago. What is penn thinking? Its not the writers, I dont think they could think of something that stupid! |

BJ can lose this fight and lose too much. I think he's just in this one for the pay day. |

Aloha... I'd love to clear up as much as possible on all the websites I've been reading, but because I'm from MN I'm only going to respond to you guys ;) We were all surprised to see what was aired when the show first came on here in Hawaii. With all the footage that they had, Dana decided to show what HE WANTED. Something we all need to understand is that with tv, they can pretty much make you say anything THEY WANT. "They" as being Dana ;) You know the part where BJ says, "I'm going to kill you Georges"... blah, blah, blah. I forget the whole line, but I've read a lot of people were upset upon hearing that. The way they aired it, yes it was a bit odd. However, the question that was asked to BJ was, "What are you going to be thinking when you are standing across the octagon from GSP?". Now with knowing that was the question leading up to that response, what do you think? It's not that bad, and actually has a WHOLE different meaning... or so I think. You have to think like that when you're locked in a cage with someone trying to knock you out. I have never fought, but am sure that's the way you must think. This fight doesn't need any extra drama added into it. I wish they'd just show the training, and interviews with each of the guys. Instead, Dana adds clips of HIMSELF in this stuff? I find that a bit odd. It's tv, and drama sells. It gets more people involved, more people talking, in turn it will sell more! This is going to be a great fight... it's sad that Dana feels the need to "twist" it the way they have. Those of us that are athletes/fighters don't need/want the drama. We just want a good show inside of the octagon! ;) -----FYI, I was eating dinner at a restaurant in Hilo last night and the camera crew came up and apologized to our table about how the footage was "tweaked". These guys were telling us that they were ashamed to see Dana do such a thing, and that they were embarrassed with what happened. This crew is contracted out by the UFC and one of them mentioned that he will NEVER work for Dana again after seeing what was aired. With the money they're getting, that's a pretty strong statement and anyone in their right mind wouldn't turn down a job offer ;) ha ha. We all need to realize that this is TV!!! Ratings are what matters. Controversy sells! ;) Their fight alone should be enough to sell this thing... Not to Dana though. GSP and BJ are different people. Again, I'm new to the fighting world, but just as in wrestling... I imagine people train differently. GSP is a workout machine, we all know that. BJ has been training non-stop for months prior to the cameras coming out here. Yes, BJ went on a little vacation (I think it was 3 days). He IS READY. There is nothing wrong with taking a few days off, and it's not like he was eating bags of chips and McDonalds while on the couple day "REST/Vacation". You don't think GSP has taken a few days off? As an athlete, I know it's just as important to rest your body! We as individuals know our bodies better than others. Some days even when we are sore, we must get up and push through it. Other times, it's better to rest you're body than to slack through a workout... or so I think. Yes, BJ's family has money. I think they pretty much "own" Hilo (the second largest city on all of the islands, behind Honolulu). It's odd though... The first time I saw BJ's house, I was shocked. My house is much bigger than his, and he drives an old beat up truck. I was very surprised when I first met BJ. He's so down to earth and a very good hearted person. If you've seen his gym, it has broken windows, and is like an old airplane hangar or something. You can't hate him for his family having money. If you didn't know they had money, you would never imagine it by the way BJ is. I think that's why so many people like him. I'm not on here to try and fix BJ's image. He doesn't need me to do anything like that. He's a great guy, an amazing fighter, and I believe he is ready for this fight. I'm here with him, I see what he's doing, I've been receiving his punches to my head, and I'm VERY impressed with his wrestling! It's amazing how heavy his hands are. These two guys that will be stepping into the octagon on Jan 31st are both BADA**ES! They know that, as do we all! I know GSP is taking nothing to heart, nor will BJ. They are professionals and both know how this drama is for TV ratings only. Much respect, and warm wishes from Hawaii, Jake "BJ's Punching Bag" Clark |

Thanks for your updates on Penn's fight prep Jake, I gotta go with GSP in this one but it should be a good fight. People need to be remember that most everything they see on television has some type of twist to it and that it's only one side or the reporters interpretation of the story. |

Oh don't worry, i have no doubt half the crap they put on tv is crafted to fit a storyline... look at what they do with TUF! God, please take Dana away in a ball of fire. In your name, amen. Thanks for the updates, Jake... Nice to hear from ya out there! |

Just saw Jake Clark sitting next to Penn at practice. I looked for him in the first couple episodes, but he must not have been out there yet. Jake will have to let us know how the training went. |

I've always been a big GSP fan and not a big fan of Penn, but I saw 2 interviews for the upcoming fight and one with GSP and one with Penn, and Penn seems like a much cooler guy in the interview. GSP seems determined in his speech, but almost to a cocky level. Penn says "Win or lose, I won't be dissapointed because I know I trained my hardest and I know I will give it my best shot"... That's a really good way of looking at it... although... I still hope GSP wins by KO. |
