http://mmajunkie.com/news/17677/bobby-lashley-vs-wes-sims-official-for-strikeforce-miami-jan-30-card-finalized.mma Besides watching Sims getting destroyed, what else could be appealing about this fight? Will it be just as exciting as watching the Kerr vs Lashley dibacle? This match will not last longer than 1 minute....This is truly disappointing.... The fight card for Saturday's "Strikeforce: Miami" fight card is officially complete; the promotion over the weekend added the card's final bout, Bobby Lashley vs. Wes Sims, on its Web site. MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) first reported this past week that Sims vs. Lashley had been finalized for the Jan. 30 event, which takes place at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla. Lashley (a WWE/TNA pro-wrestling star) vs. Sims (a UFC veteran) is one of five bouts on the Showtime-televised main card, which features a headliner of Nick Diaz vs. Marius Zaromskis for the first-ever Strikeforce welterweight title. Over the weekend, MMAjunkie.com was told by a few sources close to the event that Sims vs. Lashley was not, in fact, finalized and that negotiations were still ongoing. However, additional sources said the fight, as reported, has been signed and is good to go for Saturday's fight card. Strikeforce's official fight card, which includes the Lashley (4-0 MMA, 0-0 SF) vs. Sims (22-12-1 MMA, 0-0 SF) bout, should put any doubts to rest. Sims, of course, wasn't the first opponent targeted for Lashley. On Jan. 15, the Florida State Boxing Commission wouldn't approve first choice Yohan Banks (1-1 MMA, 0-0 SF) on the grounds that a fight with Lashley would "not be competitive." One day later, the FSBC approved veteran journeyman Jimmy Ambriz (14-12-1 MMA, 0-0 SF) to face Lashley, but Strikeforce officials nixed the bout on Jan. 19 for unknown reasons. Sims, a three-time UFC veteran, resurfaced this past fall on "The Ultimate Fighter 10," where he was choked unconscious in the first round of the exhibition tournament and acted as court jester between fights. Professionally, he is currently riding a three-fight win streak and most recently scored a KO victory over Jason DeAngelo at Full Contact Fight Series 29. Lashley, who still mixes his MMA career with pro wrestling (first with WWE and now with TNA), most recently appeared at an Ultimate Chaos event this past June, where he submitted former NFL player and Japan idol Bob Sapp with punches in the first round. Lashley makes his Strikeforce debut at this weekend's show. With Lashley vs. Sims finalized, the full card includes: MAIN CARD Nick Diaz vs. Marius Zaromskis (for vacant welterweight title) Champ Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos vs. Marloes Coenen (for women's featherweight title) Robbie Lawler vs. Melvin Manhoef Bobby Lashley vs. Wes Sims Greg Nagy vs. Herschel Walker PRELIMINARY CARD (un-aired) Jay Hieron vs. Joe Riggs Pablo Alfonso vs. Marcos da Matta Michael Byrnes vs. David Zitnik Sabah Homasi vs. John Kelly David Gomez vs. Craig Oxley Hayder Hassan vs. Ryan Keenan |

The easy pick in this one is for Sims to get overwhelmed and destroyed. It will be like watching a train wreck. Lashley will have to fight a higher level competitor soon. Sims, Sap, who's next? Butterbean? Edited by scsu_83, Jan 26 2010, 11:10 AM.

Ya technically he did, but the guy he was fighting did not throw a punch the whole match! He basically rolled over and allowed Walker to throw punches carelessly. |

Also, Lashley vs. Sims lasted about two minutes.
