This is getting ridiculous.

Belfort suffered a shoulder injury during training, and from what I've heard he might need/have needed emergency surgery. Demien Maia is replacing him for the fight with Anderson Silva.

Depending on Belfort's recovery time, do they push him in ahead of Chael Sonnen after he recovers? Especially since Silva seems to defend his title about once a year these days.

Any predictions about this fight? Anyway you look at it, I just can't see Maia having a chance...This is my greatest fear....

After about 3 rounds of watching Maia unsuccessfully taking Silva down, we will witness Maia laying on his back trying to convice Silva to flop into his guard....of course Anderson won't....and we will have to watch one of the most boring fights in the history of MMA.

...hope I am wrong....but my overly large gut is telling me this is what is going to happen.... :$

So the same thing as Silva's last title defense against Thales Leites?

Yes, exactly...I think Anderson just has too much horsepower for Maia to handle...I hope I am wrong.

Sucks that Vitor is out, but I have no idea how they decided on Damien Maia. He'll get destroyed. It will like when he fought Marquardt, probably wont even get a chance to see what he can do against anderson on the ground.

If I had to guess, I'd say that they picked Maia because he's just coming off a win. It probably would have been given to Chael Sonnen, but he was on some sort of medical suspension that just ended the other day. So he'd only have a month to train.

Its MMA, I will never forget Sonnen Beating down Nate, or Maia ending Sonnen. Match ups, injuries, and the moment of truth can sometimes dictate any fight.

It is amazing in this game that a fighter can lose one match to an excellent opponent and people rule him out. Yet someone else like "The Natural" can lose many fights and be considered one of the greatest.

Domination is the true test of greatness and no doubt Anderson up till now has done just that!!

I would say Fedor as well. GSP at 170, BJ at 155

anyway you get the picture.

Psh lets not talk about Fedor gets me mad everytime. If he wanted to prove he's the greatest fighter he needs to come to the UFC. Screw his open contract because White will want him for his own but Fedor will eventually have to man up if he wants proof that he can beat the best heavyweights in the world, because they are all in the UFC. If you go to the Sherdog power rankings every heavyweight 2 through 10 is in the UFC. With the exceptin of number one Fedor.
