I don't know a ton about Strikeforce, but I tuned in to the free card they're showing on CBS tonight. I just watched the light heavyweight championship fight between Gerald Mousasi and King Mo, and I have to say that I wasn't really that impressed. From what I saw, I don't think it would be a stretch to say the top 5, 7, or even 10 guys in the UFC could beat those two. King Mo did a good job getting takedowns, and Mousasi did a good job of keeping Mo from passing guard, but that was really it. King Mo won the fight by unanimous decision, but he looked gassed for the last four rounds. |

That may indeed be the case at Light Heavyweight and Welterweight, however other weight classes in Strikeforce could give some of the UFC's fits. The next two fights could illustrate that fairly well, as Gilbert Melendez dominated Shinya Aoki at Lightweight. Aoki was regarded by many as one of the top three Lightweights in the world. In the main event, Jake Shields, though in deep trouble early, absolutely dominated the last four rounds to win the fight over Dan Henderson, ranked in the top three in the world. A case can also definitely be made for Heavyweight, as Fedor Emelianenko is ranked number one in the world by most sources. Sherdog also ranks Brett Rogers, Andrei Arlovski, and Fabricio Werdum in the top ten. |

I thought that the Gilbert Melendez/Shinya Aoki was an amazing tactical win for Melendez. It may not have been the flashiest battle, but as far as strategy, mental toughness, and human-chess, this was a great fight to watch. Aoki looks like he might be one of the most dangerous guys on the ground and Melendez had a perfect game plan. I agree with the previous post - Strikforce is definitly legitimate in some of the weights |

I kind of tuned out during the Aoki/Mendelez fight. I was pumped for the Shields/Hendo fight, but once Shields started GSP'ing Henderson in the last few rounds I lost interest. When you combine the post-fight brawl with the fact that they actually officially referred to Lawal as "King Mo", even during the official announcement, Strikeforce left a WWE-flavored taste in my mouth. |

I agree it looked like crap, the whole show sucked, and the post fight brawl was just stupid and made the sport look bad. However I do feel Mo Lawal is going to be a great fighter soon.... he's an athlete and has elite level wrestling.... I have confidence in him.... Hendo cant fight at 185, too much of a cut, he clearly gases when he goes down that far..... Id bulk up and try to move up to 205 if I were him |

I like the card. Mo looked great...he showed the true heart of a wrestler....he was gassed after the first round, but dug down deep to get the job done. Mousasi has NEVER impressed me...I think he and Fedor are two of the most over rated fighters in MMA today...at least ONE got brought down to earth. Aoki/Melendez fight was a great tactical war. Melendez's strategy was executed to perfection. Aoki had no answer for him, but I am sure he will be back. I just can't tell you how disappointed I am with the Henderson/Shields fight. Its SO obvious that Henderson didn't get ready for this fight or was hurt. Hopefully, Shields will now come over to the UFC, where we can truly tell whether he is for real or not. That whole Miller episode was an absolute joke....what was that moron thinking? It was nice seeing him get kicked in the head repeatedly while he was turtled up on the ground; he absolutely deserved it. Like Sheilds or not, he deserved his moment of glory, he beat an icon. Miller is such an a$$ clown....He just got destroyed by Shields just months ago...what makes him think he deserves another shot? |

Cmon Miller is a funny guy. Anyways this card made me mad, all the fights bored me and were over a half hour each. Hendo is my favorite fighter and looked great in the first and then disapointed me so much. I don't understand how an Olympic wrestler gets out wrestled though. |
