Found a great link to a slide show breaking down the top ten PPV UFC sellers. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/413844-top-10-pay-per-view-buyrates-where-will-ufc-116-rank#page/11 10. UFC 79 Buyrate: 700,000+ Matt Hughes take on Georges St. Pierre 3rd fight of the trilogy Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell against former Pride middleweight champion “The Axe Murderer” Wanderlei Silva. 9. UFC 111 Buyrate: 770,000 Shane Carwin rose to the occasion when he was given his first top five-ranked opponent in former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre defends his belt against dangerous striker Dan Hardy. 8. UFC 61 Buyrate: 775,000 On this night, we witnessed the final fight in the trilogy between then UFC champion Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski. Also, on the card we saw the second fight in the trilogy between “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” Tito Ortiz and “The Worlds Most Dangerous Man” Ken Shamrock. 7. UFC 101 Buyrate: 850,000 Two of the sports pound-for-pound elites BJ Penn and Anderson Silva would look to continue their dominance as Penn would face Kenny Florian for the lightweight title, and Anderson Silva would look to climb the ranks of the 205lbs division as he took on former light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin. 6. UFC 114 Buyrate: 920,000 It was on May 29th where the bad blood between former UFC light heavyweight champions Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and “Sugar” Rashad Evans would finally set stage. 5. UFC 94 Buyrate: 920,000+ For the first time in UFC history, current champions from two different weight classes would meet in a super fight, when BJ Penn took on Georges St. Pierre. The rematch. Vaseline gate.... 4. UFC 92 Buyrate: 1,000,000+ The Ultimate Fighting Championships looked to finish out the new year in 2008 with a bang when Rashad Evans would meet Forrest Griffin for the light heavyweight title, Frank Mir would meet Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira for the interim UFC heavyweight championship, and Quinton Jackson would get a chance at revenge against Wanderlei Silva to round out their trilogy from Pride. 3. UFC 91 Buyrate: 1,010,000 It was at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas where Randy “The Natural” Couture would look to return after a yearlong lay off to take on former collegiate wrestling champion and former WWE superstar Brock Lesnar. On this night, Brock Lesnar made his presence felt in the heavyweight division in only his fourth fight in mixed martial arts, when he defeated the champion Couture via technical knock out in round two 2. UFC 66 Buyrate: 1,050,000 Still one of the highest grossing UFC pay-per-views to date is Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz 2 for the UFC light heavyweight championship. The rivalry between Liddell and Ortiz has been legendary since Ortiz refused to fight Liddell back during his title run. And Ortiz managed to put himself back in the title Hunt after defeating Vitor Belfort, Ken Shamrock (twice), and Forrest Griffin. 1. UFC 100 Buyrate: 1,600,000 my all time favorite....Mir's swollen head...and Bisping's swallowing the uncessary punch from Henderson....good times. At the present time the historic UFC 100 event is the highest grossing UFC pay-per-view with three blockbuster match ups as Frank Mir met Brock Lesnar to unify the heavyweight championship, Georges St. Pierre took on top contender Thiago Alves, and the legendary Dan Henderson took on season three winner of the “Ultimate Fighter” Michael Bisping. I can saw what I want about Mir....but it appears that he is headlining or co headling 3 of the top 10 most watched PPV's.... hope this brings back good memories for you all....it sure does for me..  Edited by XHockeyDad, Jul 7 2010, 03:36 PM.

Consider this; Brock has 2 of the top 3 highest and only has 6 fight career at this point. Guess it makes you realize why Dana was willing to put the money out there for him!! Pretty Amazing IMO when you consider all of the fighters that have come through the UFC over the years. |

UFC 61 Coming in 8th surprises me the most....I can see why Dana was so mad at Arlovski and Sylvia serving up the turdfest they did....750,000 paying customers got to witness two guys circling around the cage trying not to lose rather than trying to win. That fight was almost as boring as the Shamrock vs Severn fight in UFC 9. At the time, there was a lot of hype around Ken and Tito....but 8th place overall...yikes... |

At $45 PPV, the UFC must be pulling in $350,000,000 per year just off of PPV's, give or take $100,000,000. I could buy some groceries with that... |

Got the final numbers.... http://www.fightofthenight.com/news/ufc-117-buy-rate-expected-to-reach-aprox-1-million/ UFC 116: Lesnar Vs Carwin – 1,150,000 – 1,250,000 Looks like 117 did very well too. UFC 117: Silva Vs Sonnen – Aprox 1,000,000 (estimate only) |
