Hate to say it, but the only fights I am truly interested in are Lesnar and GSP fights....Its great to see Brock fighting again so quickly...

UFC Heavyweight Championship
Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez

Jake Shields vs. Martin Kampmann
Paulo Thiago vs. Diego Sanchez
Tito Ortiz vs. Matt Hamill
Brendan Schaub vs. Gabriel Gonzaga
* Todd Duffee vs. Jon Madsen
* Patrick Cote vs. Tom Lawlor
* Court McGee vs. Ryan Jensen
* Dongi Yang vs. Chris Camozzi
* Not Official

Brock will take this fight....I used to be worried about his ability to take a shot, but now any more.

Much like Machida, I believe Jake Shields will ultimately be exposed....unfortunately Kampmann isn't the guy to do it. Win by some sort of choke or submission.

Sanchez looked absolutely horrible in his last fight at 170...What is he thinking? Thiago by beat down.

I used to be a big Tito guy...but I am tired of his rants about the incredible shape he is in...how he is injury free...and then after he loses, telling everyone how he hardly was able to train because of yet another injury...you kind of feel cheated...if you are hurt dont' fight, and if you fight when you are hurt; don't make excuses. Hamel took a terrific beating in his fight against Jones...hope he isn't gun shy...but I think it will be a unanimous decision in Hamel's favor. Tito's last fight will probably be against Lidell. Who cares.

Schaub has really looked good in his last couple of fights, but now Gonzaga will be a true test. Personally, I don't think Schaub is ready for this fight and will lose by UD or by late TKO.

Looking forward to seeing how Duffee responds from his last fight...you might recall he was dominating the fight...gassed out...and then got knocked out...hopefully he has learned something from that fight. One thing is for certain...Madsen will not gas and is tough as nails. I am predicting Madsen by split decision.

Mike Guymon is supposedly fighting Daniel Roberts on this card, and Paul Taylor and Sam Stout are fighting too.

I know injuries happen, but this is shaping up to be card of the year.

i very much disagree with that, especially with the last card we had.

Disagree all you want, but even if 118 tanks (i.e. Diaz-Davis jab-fest, Maia by boring submission, Maynard lay-and-prays Florian, and Couture and Edgar grind out decisions), 116 was better than 117.

Much like Machida, I believe Jake Shields will ultimately be exposed....
You're looking for a scrap, aren't ya? :P

I like this card. Tito is still the man. One fight could swing him back into go-mode for another title run... but the clock is tickin... quickly...

If Kampmann's not the guy to "expose" Shields, then who is? Beating Kampman would pretty much confirm that he's one of the top 5 welterweights in the world. I wouldn't consider losing to GSP or Kosh as being "exposed"

Kampmann isn't even ranked top 10 in the UFC, yet alone the world...beating Diego Sanchez would be step in the right direction and probably would be a great fight to watch as well.

Here is a listing of guys he needs to get through first.

Matt Serra, Matt Hughes, Ricardo Almeida (sp), Josh Koscheck, Paulo Thiago, Dan Hardy,Thiago Alves, Jon Fitch, Georges St-Pierre, Mike Swick, even Volkman would give him a go....

Lots of depth in the UFC...fighting in a cage is much different than a ring...he will need to get acclamated to that as well..

Kampmann just got done beating Volkman and Paulo Thiago. Thiago has beaten Swick and Koshcheck. Matt Serra was never good, let alone now that hes like 35. Its been established that Hughes can't roll with the best any more. Almeida hasn't beaten anybody note-worthy (other than Marquart like 8 years ago). To say Kampmann isnt in the top 10 in the UFC is silly. If I had to rank Id say

1. GSP
2. Fitch
3. Alves
4. Kosh
5. Kampmann
6. Thiago
7. Hardy
8. Swick
9. Hughes
10. Volkman

Im witholding judgement on Shields because he hasnt actually had a UFC fight yet, and Sanchez because I'm not convinced hes not gonna be heading back down to lightweight

And not a top ten one at this point.

1) Edgar
2) Penn
3) Florian
4) Maynard
5) Sherk
6) Dunham
7) Sotiropolous
8) Guida
9) Jim Miller
10) Gomi

In this guy's opinion.

Volkmann is also a lightweight.
my mistake

Volkman's last two fights have been at 155, but he 'was' fighting at 170...so he can be rated at both 155 and 170...just like Diego Sanchez.

I guess. My main point being that he's not top ten at either weight.

Shields just rubs me the wrong way. Yeah, he beat Henderson, but I would guarentee that it was because Henderson didn't take him seriously. I will give Shields props if he beats Kampmann; Kampmann is no slouch...I just don't see him as a top 10 ten world ranked guy.....Just one man's opinion.

Pretty excited about tomorrow...hope everyone has had a chance to watch the pre-fight hype SPIKE specials leading up to the event....Brock looks in spectacular shape...its an amazing transformation from his last fight. I didn't realize how involved Marty Morgan was in all of Brock's training. Cain is no slouch...should be a fight to remember.

This is me being selfish as a college wrestling fan, but I hope Brock goes back and does some analysis of his training and realizes he might need a guy with more of a striking background. This would free up Marty to return to the college ranks, although hopefully not at Wisconsin. :$

Yeah, I think Lesnar should focus his next 4 to 5 months exclusively on striking...needs to turn around his game like Kos did...

I think Brock needs to stop working on strength and size, and also shed this "intimidation" factor. Going forward, worthy fighters will not be intimidated, especially in light of this loss. His coordination and footwork looked horrible. Striking is like boxing, it's all in the footwork. I think that if Brock wants a long career in this sport, he needs to get thinner, leaner, and work on his footwork.

Brock, if you're listening, everyone has expected you to be the biggest, meanest, strongest hard-azz around. And for that, you have delivered, and your fans appreciate you for it. But, it's time to move on. Rather then envision yourself as the most powerful man alive, try to envision yourself more like Abdul-Jabbar in Bruce Lee's Game of Death,

I'd start by getting down to 250, maybe even less. Get out of the gym for a few months, and join a ballet/dance class. Get your mind off fighting for a while. It sounds stupid, but it's going to help. Try a little salsa, maybe some swing, even a little hip hop. No, it's not your style, but you've got to find a way to get your feet moving. After that, jump right into boxing. Work strictly on foot/hand/eye quickness. Turn that heavy power machine into a greasy fast race car. After you've spent a few month transforming yourself, get back into the MMA gym, and starting putting it all together.

I believe that was a while ago and he didn't get suspended for it? He was scheduled to face Big Country at ufc 125 but just pulled out due to back injury.
