Main card
Frank Mir vs. Mirko Filipović
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Ryan Bader
Matt Serra vs. Chris Lytle
Sean Sherk vs. Evan Dunham
Melvin Guillard vs. Jeremy Stephens

Preliminary card (Spike TV)
C.B. Dollaway vs. Joe Doerksen
Matt Mitrione vs. Joey Beltran

Preliminary card
Thiago Tavares vs. Pat Audinwood
Steve Lopez vs. Waylon Lowe
TJ Grant vs. Julio Paulino
Mark Hunt vs. Sean McCorkle

Nothing really all that interesting on this card. I love Mirko and would love to see him beat Mir, but to see that as the headliner really makes me not want to buy the PPV. The only other fight that really jumps out at me is Sherk vs Dunham. Possible title shot for the winner?

Nothing interesting on the card?

I expect nothing but a war from Stephens and Guillard, Serra and Lytle should both be much more aggressive than their last fight, and Bader vs. Nog is a huge fight. I'm actually most disappointed with the main event.

Maybe I should rephrase. I fully expect there to be some good fights, just really nothing that has any implications for title contention. Its not Nog thats fighting, its Nogs brother. Nog was supposed to fight Mir but pulled out. Bader is going to need to face some real top level competition before I really consider him a top level LHW, beating Keith Jardine is meaningless at this point.

Serra and Lytle could be interesting, always fun to see two vets on the downslide duke it out.

Stephens vs Guilliard will be fun, hoping Guilliard remembers snort a few lines beforehand.

Im actually reasonably excited for the Spike card. I got high hopes that Mitrione is gonna be somebody someday

So you're saying his brother's last name isn't Nogueira? :P

On that note, for those of you that partake in drinking games, watch The Expendables and play "Spot the Nog".

Little do you know, Nog isnt short for Nogueira. Nog is a title, a title which Nog's brother has not earned.

P.S. I made that up entirely ;)

I like drinking games....I think spot the Nog is a keeper.

Its amazing how many chances Joe Doerkson gets to prove he is the real deal. Yes, I realize he won his last fight, but I am sure he ranks right up there for most number 2nd chances ever given. First fight UFC 49...

Loss Joe Riggs Submission (Elbows) UFC 49 - Unfinished Business 8/21/2004
Win Patrick Cote Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) UFC 52 - Couture vs Liddell 2 4/16/2005
Loss Matt Lindland Decision (Unanimous) UFC 54 - Boiling Point 8/20/2005
Loss Nate Marquardt Decision (Unanimous) UFC 58 - USA vs Canada 3/4/2006
Loss Ed Herman KO (Punch) UFC 78 - Validation 11/17/2007
Loss Jason MacDonald TKO (Elbows) UFC 83 - Serra vs. St. Pierre II 4/19/2008
Win Tom Lawlor Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) UFC 113 - Machida vs. Shogun 2 5/8/2010

Don't get me wrong...it appears he fights at least 4 times in smaller organizations after UFC losses, gets the wins, then the UFC invites him back. You truly have to admire the guys drive.

Yeah, he even took another fight a month after submitting Lawlor.

I think he chokes out C.B.

Using MMAth to back up my claim, Doerksen (by choke) > Lawlor (by choke) > Dollaway.

So I guess you could say I think he's going to ... B) put the blow-up doll away.

YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHH!

(Someone please get that reference so I don't feel like a complete and total moron.)

Not if the reference is anything more than Dollaway vs doll away.

I found some interestingthings while Googling to try and figure it out though ;)

Nah, it was my attempt at one of those one-liners David Caruso does on CSI: Miami.

Educate yourself.

Is there a law in place in the US that prevents a parent from naming your identical twins that exact same name? Like, what if the Hughes boys were both named Matt? Or maybe its something called "common sense" that would prevent a parent from doing that. I think actually Rogan refers to them a "Nog" and "Lil Nog"....I guess that probably would make the most sense.

If there is, George Foreman certainly isn't aware of it.

Not to give away any of my picks, but to suggest the Chris Lytle will beat Matt Serra via submission is somewhat of a stretch....Serra is a freak BJJ guy and Lytle is known mostly for his striking...He 'may" win but it won't be by submission.

He's Rocky with omoplatas. That being said, he hasn't actually submitted anyone since 2002, unless you count Pete Spratt on the show, but even that was a submission due to strikes.

I think if you were looking for positives, Sherk's fight was entertaining....it was nice seeing him shoot some takedowns...conditioning was an issue??...I thought I would never see that?...it was nice seeing a decision go his way...
