This looks awesome! Check it out.....some of the sports best heavyweights in a 8 man tournament. STRIKEFORCE.COM I am still a big Fedor fan, and this has the potential to be the biggest event(s) of 2011. The weird thing is that I just got Showtime somehow....man is my cable company messed up. Finally something goes my way! Edited by 1 TON, Jan 15 2011, 09:58 PM.

I like the idea, but this is terrible matchmaking on Strikeforce's part. Overeem, Fedor, and Werdum on the same side of the bracket? They're the top three heavyweights in Strikeforce, and one of them won't even make the semi-finals, while either Arlovski (who got knocked out by Fedor), Rogers (who got knocked out by Fedor), Kharitonov (who got knocked out by Overeem), or Barnett (who's been busted for steroids three times), will be in the finals. |

It was pretty exciting news at the gym when Brett got the nod to be in the tourney. Hope the MN fans are cheering for us! Going to be a tough camp, and the fight has the potential to be a fun one. |

Definetly don't like Overeem vs Werdum first round. I think everyone wants to see Fedor fight both of them. Got to like Rogers having a good chance at the finals though. |

Pat, You actually train with Brett? That is pretty cool. I don't think he is a favorite to win the tournament but MAN he must be tough. How did he wake up so fast after Fedor dopped that BOMB on him? It looked like he was awake shortly after hitting the mat and tried to roll to his side a little bit. Do you think he could have continued? It kinda looked like he didn't know if Big John was a friend or a foe. That shot would have knocked most people out for a long time. As far as the brackets....yeah I don't understand why they put possibly the 3 best on the same side, but it is still going to be awesome to see what happens. |

Ideal quarterfinal matchups for me: Fedor vs. Khartionov Overeem vs. Arlovski Werdum vs. Silva Rogers vs. Barnett |

I think they're expecting Fedor & Overeem to win and then face each other. Barnett should easily clear out his bracket and then face either Fedor or Overeem. Then they can go back and have Fedor/Werdum II. Overall the brackets aren't that bad considering the dead weight they've added to the tournament. |

Bumping this thread just to remind everyone about the Grand Prix tomorrow night. It gets really busy for wrestling fans this time of year, I almost forgot about it. |

Bummer ... Fedor got pounded possibly into retirement. Sad day if he sticks with what he said after the fight. he took a pretty good beating tonight at the hands of Silva ... ground and pound. |

That was a vicious three or four minutes Fedor spent with Silva mounting him. |

What happened to Arlovski?? He use to be good, now he got knocked out for the 4th time in a row. Fedor was outmanned last night. He took a beating when Silva got the mount. I thought they came close to stopping in during the 2nd round. He rolled to his belly a couple times but then Silva thru a choke on him. Boy how the mighty have fallen. |

The way Fedor looked, Brock, Cain, Carwin and the like would all have destroyed him. Fedor is clearly done. Sad thing is, that he'll probably try to keep fighting. |

Agreed. I really hope he doesn't take a page out of the Chuck Liddell book and keep losing in devastating ways. This is probably just a pipe dream, but how sweet would it be if Dana White and Scott Coker put their pride on the shelves for a brief time and organized a Fedor vs. Randy retirement fight? |

I think the only guy that could put this type of fight together is Vince McMahon |

Just a reminder that the other set of quarterfinals is taking place this Saturday (Finally!) as Brett Rogers takes on Josh Barnett and Fabricio Werdum and Alistair Overeem face off in the quarterfinals for some reason. Definitely pulling for Rogers, as a Minnesota guy (even though I sadly think Barnett might be the class of that side of the bracket). Edited by aguywithaname, Jun 20 2011, 09:42 PM.
