Its too bad they stopped the Daley vs. Diaz fight...initially I thought it was an early stoppage until I saw Daley try to stand back up...it was pretty back and forth up until that point.

I felt that McCarthry couldve let 3 more seconds pass and have a second round happen. Its a title fight for christs sakes.

I initially thought that too...until I saw Daley almost fall on his face when he tried to get back to his corner...

I really have a hard time accepting Jake Shields as a top 10 fighter...yes I get he has beat some pretty impressive guys...but I truly think it was because he wasn't taken seriously by them....GSP will absolutely destroy him....at ANY position...
Feel better about him now?

Nothing really shaking up the rankings recently. Can't take much from GSP decision-ing Shields since he's done that with everyone lately. Maybe move Hominick up a few spots after his performance against Aldo. Some upcoming matchups that could shake things up:
UFC 130
Gray Maynard vs. Frankie Edgar III
Rampage Jackson vs. Matt Hamill
Frank Mir vs. Roy Nelson
Brian Stann vs. Jorge Santiago
Demetrious Johnson vs. Miguel Torres
Thiago Alves vs. Rick Story
Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale
Clay Guida vs. Anthony Pettis
UFC 131
Brock Lesnar vs. Junior dos Santos
Mark Munoz vs. Demian Maia
Kenny Florian vs. Diego Nunes
Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum
Alistair Overeem vs. Fabricio Werdum

Yeah, I heard. What I think the UFC should do is move Pettis vs. Guida up a week to main event UFC 130 as an interim title fight, and then move Alves vs. Story to headline the Ultimate Fighter finale. That way, they still get a lightweight title fight, albeit an interim one, and a couple marketable names on the TUF finale.

Yeah, you just got to give props to Jake Shields....His stand up has really improved...he went five rounds with the best fighter in the World. Factor in that the fight was in Canada and there were probably 50,000 fan rooting against him. Bravo Jake Shields...you have officially earned my respect...whatever that means. :ermm:

to be honest, one of the fights I am most interested in is Frank Mir vs. Roy Nelson. This does not have the most star-power or sizzle, but both guys are capable of banging and both have very good jui jitsu.

This turned out being a really bad fight....both men gassed horribly...Frank landed some decent elbows in the end, but very little else to talk about.

Note to Nelson...."Sprawl" learn it; live it.

I didn't actually see the main card fights on Saturday. I heard that Story/Alves wasn't exactly a barnburner, but I can't be too disappointed with my man Story taking the W over a top five welterweight like Alves. That should certainly shake things up in the rankings.

Yeah, that's looking like a heck of a card. Consider that Joe Lauzon and Tyson Griffin are both fighting on the undercard and have 13 or 14 Fight Night awards between them.

Flyweight:
1) Ian McCall (Tachi Palace Fights/UFC)
2) Joseph Benavidez (UFC)
3) Jussier de Silva (Shooto/TPF)
4) Yasuhiro Uri@#$%ani (Shooto/UFC)
5) Demetrious Johnson (UFC)
6) Mamuro Yamaguchi (TPF)
7) Darrell Montague (TPF)
8) Shinichi Kojima (Shooto)
9) Yuki Shojo (Shooto)
10) Kiyotaka Shimizu (Shooto)

Upcoming fights: McCall vs. Johnson, Benavidez vs. Uri****tani (UFC on FX 2)

Admittedly, I haven't heard of 6-10, so I just kind of went off of what other various rankings sites said. I'm excited for the 4-man tournament between McCall, Benavidez (my pick to win it), Uri@#$%ani, and Mighty Mouse.

And The Guillotine bleeped out the middle of the #4 flyweight's name. Nice.

Rankings updated, along with key upcoming fights in each division.
