My winners are highlighted in the above post. A few thoughts I have about this card: 1) A lot of Canooks on the card. 2) Why on God's green earth is Matyushenko vs. Brilz on the main card over McDonald vs. Diaz? 3) GSP and Aldo will both retain in destructive fashion. 4) The UFC is really spoiling those of us with facebook by offering all five preliminary fights. 5) Just a reminder, the UFC has decided to start things an hour earlier, so the pay-per-view starts at 8:00. |

Here are my picks and reasons for the Main card. 1) GSP should dominate Shields wherever the fight takes place. Shields is great but GSP is on another level. It will take a Serra-like upset for Shields to win this one. GSP by first round TKO. 2) I think Aldo will win a close decision, Hominick is a tough dude and will give Aldo all he can handle. Aldo by Unanimous Decision. 3) I love Lyoto, but not in this one. I think Randy will close the distance and try to pin Machida up against the fence then go for the takedown and control the fight. If Lyoto can keep it standing he knocks out Randy, I don't think he will be able to. This is a bad matchup for Machida, Randy by Unanimous Decision. 4) Matyushenko is a gatekeeper and Brilz will finish him early. Brilz first round KO. 5) This is a great fight to start the card with it will be fast paced and with lots of strikes being thrown. Henderson by Split Decision. This is also my pick for FOTN. |

1)GSP wins a close fight by UD....he'll outscore Shields on the feet but anything on the ground will be very even, I'd almost say advantage Shields....but I wont sell George short 2)Aldo walks away with it.....not a close fight....In my opinion, he should be in the convo for best pound for pound fighter with GSP 3)I love Randy and despise Lyoto, but I have to take the Dragon....Randy just has to many miles on that body, hes just to old...Lyoto will be a lot quicker, and able to stay away from him.....Ill say decision but really I think theres a good shot randy gets caught an KO'ed 4)Brilz....but who cares... 5)Bocek takes him.....the dude is severely under rated.... In other fight that I care about Ill take Diaz(even though I cant stand him), Ellenberger, Valencia, Watson, and the athlete...Jason McDonald.... |

GSP by overall domination Aldo by being quicker than "The Machine" but it will be a good, techinical stand up fight Randy (in his "last" fight) Could care less about about Matyushenko vz Brilz but ill take Brilz I guess I think Bocek will catch Henderson on the ground (wouldve rathered seen Bocek vs Sotirioupoulouss or however you spell it :P) |

A few thoughts I had on the card. 1) John Makdessi has to be pissed. He knocked Kyle Watson clean out with a beautiful spinning backfist, but Machida's Anderson-esque kick stole the Knockout of the Night from him. 2) I had to laugh at Shields doing more damage (at least from an aesthetic standpoint) to GSP than Alves, Hardy, or Koscheck. 3) Aldo/Hominick might be fight of the year at this point. |
