Hoping Brock can bring him down but thats asking alot from someone who has been so sick. Really have not seen too much of Over the past couple years. He looks huge however.

Tough call. Brock clearly isn't on speaking terms with getting hit in the face, but Overeem gassed from Werdum trying to pull guard.

A great match . I hope it pans out. If Brock gets him down...and he should...it will be a long night for Overeem.

They both get suspended for steroid use.

Overeem weighed 224 in 2007
2008 he weighed 242
2009 he weighed 252
Now: Expected to be 260 or so for Lesnar

If you are a hardcore weight lifter it's not likely you'll gain more than 5 pounds of muscle or so in a year unless you are new to lifting.

So 18 pounds from 2007-2008, 10 pounds from 2008-2009 and maybe 6-8 pounds from 2009-2011.

This follows a perfect patern of steroid use.

#1- Massive gains on the first 2-3 cycles (~1 year)
#2- A decline in results because steroids become less effective with longterm use (2nd year)
#3- Either further declining effectiveness of the steroids or he's off the gear, we'll see upon his next weigh in.

I think Brock is the underdog by a slight bit but can win it. Overeem is about as big as brock, but does not have the wrestling background that Lesnar does. He's pretty balanced though with good submission skills (for the weight class) and decent striking ability. It should be a tough match either way.

He came back and performed well against Carwin after a year off (well, got rocked, turtled, and then took down a gassed Carwin), but then Cain put him away in short order. I personally thought July-October was a pretty quick turnaround when they announced the date last year, but Cain could very well just be the better fighter.

Cain is the better fighter. If Brock could stand and strike better he'd be better able to take Cain down where he'd probably dominate on the ground. Cain is a good wrestler as well but I think Brock is better and would have a size advantage.

Cain simply strikes so well that I don't think Brock can get a shot in without getting Cain to respect his striking ability.

No matter what he's been doing Brock can't stand and strike with Overeem, that would be a huge mistake. Overeem is one of the best striker in the division and last time we saw Brock his striking was still pretty raw. He needs to shoot and take Overeem down where Lesnar has the advantage.

Werdrum may not be the greatest striker but he's still technically better than Brock was last time we saw him. Brock has punching power but the technique is bad and he's a bit slow handed. Reem is quick and powerful, it would be a terrible idea for Lesnar to stand with him. Reem is as good a striker, if not better, than Cain but bigger.

I agree, but that's because he's garbage on the ground. He can box, that's for sure but assuming Lesnar gets the Takedown it will be over shortly after that, I think. Reem may be overrated but his striking isn't. If Brock can take him down he will dominate Reem.

Wow Jr knocks the snot out of Cain. Can Brock get by Big Overeem and get a shot at Jr? Can he take Jr down and smother him like he did Mir? Thought Cain looked flat and did not pass the test.

Cain made one sloppy attempt to take him down and then decided to strike with probably the best striker in the division. STUPID. Got what he had coming.

Brock will fare much better against Overeem, he won't heistate to take him down and will go after it again if he fails the first time.

It depends. If he can shoot on dos Santos, he'll win that fight. If he eats an uppercut coming in, probably not.

Heavyweight has become the weight class where the one that lands the first bomb normall wins, so it's really hard to tell who the best HWT really is. Anyone of these guys (Lesnar,Cain, dos Santos, Carwin..ect) can take each other out any given day.

Honestly I think this is the best possible situation for Brock....I've been saying that he'll never get the belt back as long as Cain has it.....but I honestly think he'll beat ream and have at least a pretty good shot at takin out Dos...as long as he's facing guys who cant neutralize his high level wrestling, he's got a shot. I seriously doubt Dos has felt anything quite like Brock wrestling wise. As we've seen, once your underneath the big fella, your in trouble.

The problem with dos Santos is that he's got the strange ability to hit people taking shots on him and has decent TD defense. Sure, if Brock can take him down it's probably over but that's far from a given.

Dos santos is a pure fighter. Born and raised. brock is gonna have to weather the storm and get in on. A takedown and g&p his way to the title

I like him in that he's entertaining and has a MN connection, but he's not that skilled of a fighter. If he can't take someone down he'd finished. Then again he's in a pretty weak division.

I don't know him personally, so can't comment on him as a person.

He is one dimensional as a fighter but seems to make it work against most. I question coming back from being so sick twice but give him credit for trying. Takes berries to walk in the cage against guys that size and lay it on the line. Great storyline with Gopher and North and South Dakota wrestling histories.
