Yeah, brock is a local hero. But he did win the title. He may have been more of a paper champion. But he does have some good wins in the octagon. He just needs to stay healthy |

Rumors starting to circulate that Mir will replace Overeem on 12/30. Is 3 weeks enough time between fights? Or is this just wishful thinking by some people? |

Sounds like Overeem may have been busted for PEDs. 3 weeks shouldn't be too bad, he pretty well dominated Nog and it was less than 1 round. He's already familiar with Lesnar so I don't think either would really suffer in preperation. My thought on MMA is if you had what amounts to a wrestling match, you should be ready to fight again pretty soon. Where recover matters is if there is a striking war like Hendo vs Shogun. Mir is already basically in fighting shape so all he'd have to do is maintain it for three weeks and train. There wouldn't be an huge push to get into shape. |

Mir was eager to do it in the post fight press conference. Dana asked where we get this stuff as he apparently hasn't even heard. |

Where is this Mir instead of Overeem rumor coming from? I still haven't seen this anywhere. On a side note, Fox Sports had a link on their front page this morning about the 10 best KO's of 2011. Regarding the Hendo/Fedor fight the article says Hendo knocked Fedor out cold......do reporters even watch the events before they report on them? Apparently sports media is content to do a half a$$ job and support agenda's much like the general media. |

It was something posted on ESPN but turns out the Overeem was just having issues getting the testing done in Holland. He went to have the testing done but because the terminology is deferent there, the wrong tests were done. Due to how health care works there he had to wait a week or so to go back and get another set done that the athletic commission would accept. So basically, the wrong tests were done the first time, he had to get another set done but from what I understand he came back clean. |

They are both some BIG dudes. I don't think it goes past round 1. In a heavyweight match anything can happen. Last time Brock faced someone his own size (Carwin) he got owned in round one, but Carwin blew his wad punching Brock in the shoulders and arms instead of the face. I think Overeem either connects early and often and ends it first round or Brock outlasts him and ground and pounds him in the second. My money is on Overeem (but not much money). It is just fascinating because of the hype surrounding both men and we just have no clue how they match up. I don't think Brock can hold a fresh Overeem down and punch him at the same time. How can I dislike a MN wrestler so much? |

If Brock is truely healthy reem wont be able to stop the takedowns, and you don't get up from Brock. He needs to be healthy and not have cage rust tho

Reem has not faced a wrestler as good as Brock. We have not seen him have to use TD defense in a long time. Heck, the only decent grappler he faced was Werdum and he laid on his back the whole fight like a prom queen. Brock also brings a combo to the table that it hard to train for. He's probably the most physically dominating fighter in the UFC and the best wrestler in the division. Only fighters that have fought Lesnar can claim they've seen someone his size with his wrestling ability in combat. Overeem is used to having stand with him and trade and used to being the bigger man. The only thing I worry about with Lesnar is if he's really back to 100% fitness wise. The weigh could give us some hints to that as Lesnar always ways in at about 265. |

Reem hasn't faced a wrestler of Brock's caliber, and Brock hasn't faced a striker of Reem's caliber. That's why it's so intriguing. The co-main, Donald Cerrone vs. Nate Diaz is really interesting as well. I was asking for that as soon as the UFC and WEC merged a year ago. |

Reem will need to tag Borck good when he closes the distance for a TD, if he doesn't it is death via GnP. |

Volkman won on the under card. Dominated the 1st two rounds, almost got choked out in the 3rd, but he pulled it out. Then he made himself look like a fool talking about the Pres.

Overeem smashed Lesnar. Brock couldn't shoot because he kept catching knees in the gut on the way in. Untill Brock improves in stand up or can find a way to get past the strikes he isn't going to be an elite MMA fighter. |

Not gonna happen, Brock retired. Somebody really needs to tell Volkmann that to quit talking about politics. Nobody wants to hear that stuff at a UFC fight and nobody cares what a fighter thinks about politics. He's just making himself look like an idiot. |

What did Volkmann say this time? Imo Brock didn't even try to take it to the ground. You can't knee him during a blast double. |

He stumbled through an attempt to call out Frankie Edgar and told him to brush up on his takedown defense. Then he told Obama to call him so they can schedule a glassectomy, told Joe Rogan to ask him what a glassectomy was, and explained that it's a procedure where they remove your belly button and replace it with a pane of glass so you can still see what you're doing when you have your head up your a**. Clever, but the delivery was terrible. |
