Did I see a rule change on weigh-ins? Tri's... Can the team that wrestlers 2nd and 3rd round weigh-in at a later time? |

According to Rule 11 Art 1- Event administration is responsible for establishing weigh-in times. If, however, there is a difference in the time that teams begin competition, as would be the case in a triangular, weigh-ins for the team(s) starting later may be adjusted in relation to the later starting time. To answer your question in general, the team that does not wrestling in the first round of the triangular, MAY have to weigh in later than the other two teams which are in the first dual meet. The team that would wrestle in the 3rd round, that had a break during the second round of a triangular would have already been weighed. Edited by Matthew Jones 01, Dec 5 2011, 12:08 PM.

That's an interesting question. Maybe post it on the "Ask A Ref" forum if you haven't already. My impression to the previous post is, that generally all coaches and at least one referee are at the weigh-ins. Which makes it difficult to perform a second/later weigh-in during the first round of the Triangular. So, it may be within the rules, but difficult to achieve with getting the right parties to be available and run the weigh-in. Edited by q95, Dec 6 2011, 04:55 PM.

As Matthew Jones stated. This is a new rule 11-1-1 states event administration is responsible for establishing weigh-in times within the guidelines prescribed in rule 4-5. If, however, there is a difference in the time that teams begin competition, weigh-ins for the teams starting later may be adjusted in relation to the later starting time. Teams that have a later starting time will now be allowed to weigh-in, in relation to their starting time. Rule 4-5 is still followed. Q95 Referee's are not required to do weigh-ins. Rule 4-5 Art 4. The referee or other authorized personnel of the same gender shall supervise the weigh-ins. Sometimes this can be an AD or site manager if referee is not available. I have a crazy question that I have to ask. Let's say team "A" wrestles a match on a Thursday, then team "A" wrestles a match against team "B" on that Friday so both teams get 1 pound on Friday because team "A" wrestled the night before. Then Team "B" wrestles on Saturday in a tourney or a dual. Do all teams get 2 pounds on Saturday because team "B" was in a match the night before that allowed for 1 pound? |

That is correct. Because B would have consecutive day weigh-ins they would get 2 on Saturday along with everyone else they wrestle on that Saturday. |

So if you didnt wrestle on Thursday or Friday do you still get the added weight for Saturday. Or did you have to wrestle/weigh in on those nights also. |

If any team in a competition is eligible for a weight allowance, then all of them are. |
