Can a fall be recorded from the neutral position (meaning nobody has been awarded the takedown)? |

Yes a defensive fall can be called without control. Either from the defensive position or from neutral |

I've seen it twice... wrestlers scrambling, wrestler A tries to lock up a cradle - not enough control for either wrestler to get a takedown but wrestler A has a cradle locked up while laying on his own back and gets called for a fall. |
