Potentially Dangerous

Can a ref physiaclly alter a move? Region semis match, wrestler A sits out and faces wrestler B. Wrestler B has control of one wrist held behind wrestler A's back. Picture him being handcuffed. Wresler B continues to pull wrist toward wrestler A's head. Ref verbally warns wresler B not to advance the hold. Wrestler B continues upward progression toward the head when the ref proceeds to grab wrestler A's arm and virtually breaks the hold, thus giving escape to wresler A. No potentially dangerous or illegal hold called. The ref physically broke the hold himself and let the wrestling continue. For the record, I was wrestler A and completely think the ref was wrong, as that is the only time I have seen anything like it. And nobody said anything about it. Their coaches never said a thing. The crowd didn't say a thing. Really weird. Thoughts?

A ref shouldn't physically alter the move. The only time I can think of is in the scenario where the guy being pinned keeps pushing at the face of the offensive wrestler. We will swat the hand away and let him know to stop. This will result in an additional point.

In your example if it is potentially dangerous then we should stop it for potentially dangerous.
