Yeah....it was brutal. His opponent had to back out....Marcus didn't know if he was going to have a fight until moments before weigh-ins. No excuses. But, I was hard to watch.

It was his regular weight class (155). There has to be some issue with his training and/or coaching. I've watched all 3 of his UFC fights and the game plan for each has been terrible. The only real technique he's displayed is a double leg takedown (which he's carried over from his wrestling days). As an MMA fighter he really hasn't developed at all. He's a good enough athlete to succeed. Perhaps a change of scenery would help. IDK.

he really didnt look ready to fight. he was game planning for a completely different fighter. chiesa isnt nearly the striker. you are right. he was dominating in his first fight be he seemed to just give him his best move.

Lets keep it real!! Marcus has never been a hard worker. Thats why he left the U of MN. He got pushed and didn't want to work hard. He has gotten by on talen alone his whole career. If he was really serious about fighting he would be at the MN martial arts academy. He could be really good if he would work hard and give it 100%.

Wow. From the sound of it, you talk like you were one of the wrestlers at the U when he was there. If you are going to make a bold statement like that.....post your name. But, I'll bet you have never been in the same wrestling room as him. You don't have a 155-0 record in college by not working hard. Let me know when you will make those statements to his face......I would want to be there for that.

I was on the same page Tbone I cant see anyone with his record getting by on just talent. We had a former Augsburg wrestler in our room as a coach for a wile and he to had tryed his hand in mma for a short time His best quote was " I found out They could knock Me out just as easy as I could them ".

He needs to evolve instead of trying to wrestle a mixed martial arts match. Btw UFC cut him after this loss.

Sounds like sour grapes to me.

He was behind Becker and Lawrence his first year. Those two national champs being in front of you are a lot for someone to take on. He was expecting to compete his first year and I believe (and this is my supposition) that this frustrated him. Were there other issue? Yes. Newsweek did a story about it for God's sake.

I've had the privilege of knowing quite a handful of Augsburg wrestlers/coach/fans. I've heard people talk crap about other athletes, coaches, etc. I've never, ever heard one thing bad about Marcus LeVessuer. Not one.

For those of you who think he got by on talent alone. I picked him up every morning for 4-5 years to run every morning and after practice i picked him up and brought him down to the U of M to work on his technique. I have never met a smarter wrestler in my life. But when people assume he was only great because of his talent have no clue. He was also coached by one of the best Youth coaches the states ever had.
