Robb and Lloyd are great friends---if they could convince them to stay, that would be great. Unlike Gable and RBY, I think they are truly a "package" deal. I don't think Lloyd goes any bigger than 149 in college--Robb maybe does grow into 165. Eischens wrestled well and supposedly he wants to be a Gopher. Would be nice if some of the guys could get Robb and Lloyd to commit to the Gophers...could use more talent in the 149-165 weight classes.
Is Eischens a better Folkstyle wrestler than he is at Freestyle? I just don't see the top talent I keep hearing about, he was not very impressive from what I saw in Fargo this week. He wouldn't have scored on Franek if they wrestleed for 20 min
Yes.

He is also up two weights from the hs season.
Doesn't seem to effect other top tier wrestlers moving up in weight
Do we have any examples of other wrestlers who were up two weight classes from high school to Fargo? If so, did any of them attain All-American status?

There are many college AAs who were NOT Fargo AAs. So why are we trying to write somebody off before they even get a chance? The kid is good. He's beaten nationally ranked opponents in folkstyle (which is the only style that matters in college) and he is a Fargo AA. I hope he decides to be a Gopher so he can prove some people wrong.

I wouldn't say it affected him either. He was an AA at a very tough weight, a weight Crowe didn't place at.

To echo what someone else said I would really like to see the list of MN wrestle who were junior freestyle AAs at fargo up two weights from their folkstyle weight. Very short list I am sure.

Edit: from 5 minutes of research it appears the above has happened once since 2014. Owen Webster did it going from 160 to 182 in 2015. Again, doesn't happen often at all.

I always laugh when people project a kid who has went up a ton of weight to stop growing before they are a sr. I compare Peyton Robb growth wise to Jay Borschel from Iowa who was 103-130-152-171 in high school. Robb so far has been 106-120-145. Based on previous growth I have to project he is 160 lowest likely 170 next year projecting 174-184 in college.

Tyler is a great kid and a great wrestler. 4.0 or better student the U would be lucky to have him.

Sorry guys I'm working when I get home I'll try to get a list for ya but I like Tyler Eischens and I hope he comes to the U as well, I just don't like making excuses and I think moving up weight classes is a lame excuse imo not that he needs anyone making excuses for him as he AA at Fargo! Well done kid.

I see eischens the same as Crowe. Both great kids, same body types, just not sure how either will develop though. Watched them both lose to kids that Robb handled easily. Crowe lost to Ruffin 4-10, Robb teched him twice inside a minute.

Just for sh*ts and giggles, a potential Gophers lineup in 2019-2020

125- Aaron Cashman (Even with Pat McKee, would love to get this guy)
133- Pat McKee
141- Mitch McKee
149- Brent Jones
157- Brayton Lee (Super hopeful we get him)
165- Jake Allar
174- Bailee O'Reilly (Think this is a highly underrated recruit with crazy potential)
184- Owen Webster (not exactly sure about his availability, will he come in as a true soph. this year?)
197- Greg Kerkvliet
HWT- Gable Steveson

I like this a lot

I actually have no preference when it comes to Teske and Cashman... I just hope we land one of them to go with P. McKee for 125/133

Carson Manville is way ahead of where Mason was at this point in his career. So dominant, hope he's a Gopher. I bet he'll be the #1 wrestler in class of 2021

The only guy to beat Lee in Fargo, Kaden Gfeller, is going to OkSt at the same weight. The only reason I could see Lee not going there.

They must want him for 157. They are really deep 133-149 (Heil, Brock, Lewellan, Moran, with Gfeller and Fix coming in this fall.
