my neighbor who is an is from Iowa and had season tickets for years says Mark Hall is going to Iowa and Keegan is going to UNI. I hope and pray both are untrue.
Well that settles it. Although I wonder if is the season ticket holder dictating where the kids go or are the kids and coaches informing the season ticket holder of commitments not made public yet? Either way I'm getting season tickets cause even though I can't attend most events, the perks are top notch ;)

Had the privilege to talk to you son at nationals. His enthusiasm and excitement to join the program and help bring championships was exciting to hear. I look forward to his career!

It will be a lot more fun, when you have season tickets and then make kids go to the school of your choice... and at 10 bucks a seat, its really cheap with the power you get lol.

Manville still Penn St.? Hall possible, but I can see him going elsewhere. White would be a good get. Keegan Moore probably UNI, although he did say on twitter he loves Minnesota.

What if we don't get any big names? Maybe Lizak has some friends he can convince to come to the Midwest! We need some studs that can ride and turn.
I believe I saw Manville cruising around St. Louis in a Penn State jacket, so my assumption is that commitment is standing.

I would assume as with most other College entrants, he pans to graduate, but I could be wrong. :)

I was wondering how the Gophers have done with recruiting the traditional powers of high school wrestling.

Apple Valley
Kingsleys
Trom-did not enroll
Lehman-did not enroll
Keough-transferred
Volk

Blair
Cooperman-transferred
Mason-transferred

St Eds
Koz- transferred

Wyoming SEM
Preskitt-transferred

OPRF
Dardanes
Early

St Paris Graham
?

These are the ones I can think of. Who else? Have we ever got somebody from Graham? That is a pipeline I would like to start. Oak Park is another pipeline to keep open. Is there another power school I am forgetting? STMA and Simley could be included.

IC, I just remember Dustin being from Perry-Massilon? , but knew he was at another ohio school as well.

he should take a few more trips back home and talk to those Ohio boys

Stroker hurt his knee tonight wrestling in an Agon event. He will need surgery, not sure how severe it is. Bummer

Surgery and rehab on this bum knee, then time to train for a national title out at Fargo. Thankful for my opportunities.

I will be back. ✊

I think Geiger attended Blair his Sr. year (maybe Jr. year too?), although he was from Oregon and I believe he went to at least half his HS years there...

Here's a Fredy Stroker story from the Iowa board:

CatCoach

I'm a coach in MO that was born and raised a Hawkeye fan. 6 years ago I took our team to the Missouri team wrestling camp. I had a pretty good team but we were missing a 106 pounder, this would cost us six points each dual. With their being only 10 weight classes per team I knew it would be difficult to be team dual champions.

After arriving and weighing in Coach Brian Smith asked me if I would like a 106 that was attending the camp by himself. Brian went on to say that he was only a 7th or 8th grader and weighed around 85-90 pouinds but was very technical and his dad had brought him to MO camp a number of times. Of course I said that would be great and not knowing what to expect I thought the kid might win a match or two for us.

Little did I know then, but that kid was Freddy Stroker and not only was he an outstanding wrestler, going undefeated for us, but he was the most humble, fun loving kid and my team took him in and they had a blast like only wrestlers can.

I do not know Freddy's dad, but I can tell you for 5 days at MO camp Freddy Stroker made a fan out of me and my 15 HS kids that wrestled with him. Always had a smile, always upbeat and what a talent. It was fun to see his career take off and since then our team has followed him from afar.

By the way he pinned all but 1 kid and we went undefeated as a team and were team dual champions!

Thanks Freddy you made an impact on a few Iowans.

"I will take my visits and I will see where God wants me to be," Keegan said. "There is a possibility I will go to UNI and there is a possibility I will go to another school.

Keegan could easily accept a Gopher offer. If for any reason the "U" didn't work out, he could transfer to Northern Iowa without loss of scholarship or eligibility.

He might want to see what wrestling on the big stage is like.
