Eischens to Stanford.
Getting off an airplane in San Francisco, San Jose, or Sacramento is like landing on another planet. Quality of life takes on a new meaning. Virtually every part of the country has issues of some type with mother nature/floods/fires/storms, but day to day in Nor Cal is tough to beat.
I lived in San Francisco for 14 years, a ways back and many people wouldn't be so comfortable with the CA earthquakes they have. I was waiting for a bus at Geary and Stockton (across the street from Saks 5A) back in 1989 when they had that big quake. Geary Blvd. was buckling like an ocean wave and windows were popping out from several stories up and falling to the sidewalk.

Earthquakes can be pretty scary, but they never bothered me a bit. Just brace yourself and ride it out!!
I lived in Walnut Creek/Nor Cal for 6 years starting in 2003. Never anything close to a minor quake.

What was funny was the amount of complaints you would hear from people anytime the temperature got below 60 or above 80. Huge store displays and newspaper ads for electric fans because the forecast had temps getting into the mid 80's.

Went to a couple of Stanford Football games. Campus is outstanding, in every sense of the word. New 49'ers stadium a few miles from campus. GS Warriors headed to downtown San Fran and a new arena. Giants baseball atmosphere is second to none.

Easy to adjust to and alot to like.

Brock Hardy commits to the Huskers. Maybe a good sign for Gophers recruitment of Lee?

Potentially. Hardy plans to take a two year Morman mission so not sure how much it directly impacts.

Josiah Rider's stock seems to have taken a hit following a DNP at Super 32. Obviously just one tournament. Curious to see where he lands as well.

Gliva was literally choked out in a match and came back to win. HEART. Can't recall where or who against, but still blows my mind. He was originally on FLO's top 100 in the 90's range. He is still on Intermat's top 100.

Junior Freestyle Duals this past summer vs Illinois. Gliva was choked out got up like the Terminator and proceeded for the win. Great match and great dual. Real roller coaster ride.

Congrats.
He's made great strides with technique and strength. Impressive last year in a 9 - 3 semi-final win against Buesgans at the X before losing in the Finals to Florell (Purdue) 7-3.

Also watched him the year prior in a dual against Florell and it got away from him early. Obviously embraced taking the next step training wise because he looked stronger and quicker 10 months later.

I'm thinking the younger/youngest brother takes the same steps.

I went to an Orono football game earlier this fall and Danny, the youngest of the bunch, is substantially taller than his brother. Could be a HWT in college...nonetheless I have nothing but good interactions when I have met this family, salt of the earth people.

You don't really expect a 120 lb 7th grader to outgrow 197 but can't do much about it unfortunately.

If he is already too big for 197 what is the point? He is not going to sit behind Gable. Focus efforts/money on Kennedy.

Seems like a kid who can't make up his mind and commit. Agree if he's to big for 197 he's not displacing Gable.

Many recruits switch schools once. Now if he switched again I'd agree with you (like that Meija kid from cali who switched like 3 times) but the list of kids who have switched once is long.

Gable will probably win one or two of his four titles by beating Kerkvliet in the finals.

He’s a gopher fan, and he himself knows he can’t beat Gable. He wants to wrestle. He’s too big for 197 and I don’t blame him for going somewhere else. I’ll root for him except when he wrestles Gable! I admire him honestly. At least he’s going where he can wrestle and make an impact right away. So many kids on Penn State’s roster who could have gone somewhere else and wrestle and make an impact but aren’t so good for him. Hope they gave him good scholarship money!

Life...it's not fair. I see why he did what he did but then why commit in the first place? He has free will and can do what he wants I'm just questioning why commit in the first place and change your mind so quickly. Not like he didn't know who would be the Heavyfor the next 4 years at U of M.

I believe he committed over a year ago to MN. Probably thought there was still a good chance he would be a 197. Then he kept growing...

Hey at least it wasn't Penn State or Iowa.
I think it was wise not to choose a Big Ten school. Limits the number of times he'll face off with Gable. I'm guessing that was a factor in his decision.

I bet Smith will make him suck down to 197. I wonder if he really has outgrown 197...I understand if he doesn't want to cut for his last two years in HS.....
