Nice job recruiting coach Eggum.

Let's develop these young men into champions.
I completely agree on complimenting Coach Eggum, and undoubtedly others on the staff played key roles as well.
I’d imagine that Schlatter is a pretty good recruiter for out of state guys, considering his experiences.
You are so right. The entire recruiting committee need to be recognized.

Brayton Lee is going to be really really good. Watching some of his matches, he never gets tired and is always attacking. I was unable to see much mat wrestling but he looks to be very good there as well.

This recruiting class is EPIC!

Love it, not only is this class highly ranked and successful, but they wrestle a fun style. Gable and Mckee are ALWAYS looking to score, as is Lee. Haven’t watched Thomas or McIntosh wrestle, but I’m hoping they are similar!

Does a recruit have to sign a NLI? Or can they just go to a school?? If Kirkvliet didn't sign he could transfer back.. But I don't know how that works or about scolly money..

He verbally committed. He can go anywhere he wants until this time next year when he signs.

Everybody coming up with all these different/crazy ways that Kerk could become a gopher after Gable leaves. Did you ever think that maybe he'd rather have a normal college experience than be a gopher for a year or two? Or maybe he wouldn't want to leave the school that invested 3 years in him while there wasn't room for him at Minnesota.

It's unfortunate that Kerk and Gable are so close together age wise, it's no
one's fault that there isn't room for Kerk, I just think it's hilarious that so many people think he would want to transfer mid way through his college career.

I think he should go the Kolat, Brinzer, Mocco route (except to MN). If he doesn't that's fine too.

Several Gopher coaches (across all sports) have all made a similar comment: "We need a highly rated national recruit to commit and other 5*'s will take the same route".

I think GS carried the torch for this class.

I know it's early but I'm curious to what next year's class might look like. Minnesota don't have any top end talent next season as far as I know, besides Kerkvliet.

The following year has some must get hammers. Patrick Kennedy & Ryan Sokol. Both should easily be ranked top 10 if not top 5 in there class. A.J. Ferrari out of Texas is another beast. Projected 197 from this class that would fit perfect.

I am pretty sure Sokol is only a Freshman. So you will have to wait 3 years for him.

The second best MN junior this year is Anthony Jackson, who certainly has d1 talent but idk if he will be a d1 wrestler. Other than that yeah it's now a super strong class. I would throw a little money at Glazier and or King though. Both started as little guys and continue to get bigger and better every year.

They definitely need to redshirt both McKee and Webster next season.

I hope Gabe does as well but that seems doubtful.

Two lightweights that I like are Ryan Ripplinger of ND and Travis Ford-Melton of IL. Not sure either are 133’s in college, but if they could be that would be neat.

Has Minnesota had many Bismark guys in the past?

Three Upperweights I really like are all Sophomores. Patrick Kennedy 174/184, AJ Ferrari 184/197 and Braxton Amos 285. Amos being a year younger than Kerkvleit opens up a little more flexibility with trying to fit him in. All three will be top ten recruits in their class so probably not realistic, but it’s my dream.

Ferrari from same town as Bo Nickal.

Other MN kids I would love to see come in are the Carlson boys out of Willmar. Glazier of Albert Lea. Cade King Owatonna. I am sure there are others I am forgetting in the junior and senior class.

Also for anyone keeping track at home, Stroker has four losses on the year, two of which were teammates.

I remember Glasser. That has been a historically solid program and I can not think of many others.

For some reason I thought Braxton Amos was verbally committed to Iowa State.

No he hasn’t. He is a rare WV stud so guessing a lot of those schools out east will try to keep him around.

What about next year's recruits? Adding 1 big time recruit would go along way with this year's class.

63 Ford- Melton
89 Ripplinger
24 Jordan Crace of Graham, OH is another one that intrigued me due to Thomas coming here. Projects as a 133.

I expect the first two to move up in the next rankings. Flo is trying to get kids school lists so hopefully soon we may know who has interest.
