I’ve already given up on this dream, which is extremely pessimistic but easier to accept if I just get over it now.

Brayton Lee's state final match can be seen at about the 2 hour 25 minute mark.
http://ihsaatv.org/
You have to click On Demand and then the wrestling link.

Thanks MNRodent, that was a pretty cool broadcast!! I wish a media outlet in MN would put on a state finals production like this. Do you have any additional links to other state wrestling tourney finals?
I just googled the Indiana tournament to see the brackets, and was happy to see the video. Iowa tournament was last weekend also, but I think most are one of the next 3 weekends.

Word is that nationally ranked 195 pounder Nick Casperson (Fresno State) is going to be bumping up to heavyweight for the postseason to get a shot at Nash. Should make things interesting at the SD state tournament.
The final is indeed set between these two!

Garrett Joles wrestles in the Wisconsin (small school) state championships at 195 lbs. tonight. He had major decisions wins in the quarters and semis, and is something like 41-0 on the year.

If you have the Fox Sports Go app and the proper cable subscription you will be able to watch any of the three class finals matches beginning at 5pm. I have my reminder set for the small (D3) school finals so I can see this young man's match.

So the app is free. I have an iPhone and downloaded it sometime ago. I also have an xfinity cable subscription (basic package that includes the Fox sports North channel). Because of that the app allows you to view other states programming--similar to our Fox Sports North. I guess these WI finals are being broadcast on their equivalent channel.

His brother Trett Joles (46-2) took 3rd at 182 as a freshman. Looks like he was the 1 seed. He pinned the guy in the 3rd place match who pinned him on the winners side.

2x world champion Kurt McHenry lost in the national prep school championships to Trevor Mastrogiovanni, Blair. McHenry looks a full weight class small at 113. Have to wonder if he can ever be a full size 125 in college.

I agree. Great motor and raw talent. It wasn't really as close as the 6-4 score indicates. I think he will thrive in the Gopher room.

Yep, no seeded over here. Unfortunately, some the "final" matches occur in earlier rounds.

I don't think we have much of a chance of landing Kennedy.

Hopefully Gopher coaches keep an eye on Parker Keckeisen, a 170 lb junior at Nicolet, WI-- he won the large class title and is not well known nationally. He is a very good athlete and I think he has a lot of upside potential.

We have several kids here who will beat Parker....including at least one freshman. Parker is a great kid but not a D1 prospect.

I want Glazier and King.
It's going to be very hard to sign many people after this monster recruiting class. There can't be much money left and there's now a young potential star at every weight. That said I do think that these two are in our ballpark.

A young "potential" star at every weight? Are you talking about Penn State?

And “our ballpark”??

Aren’t you a SDSU fan?? Not a Gopher fan.

I didn't think what I said would be so divisive. I've been a Gopher fan for much longer than I've been a Jackrabbit fan though, ever since they booted JRob, I do wear my SDSU gear when they meet. As to the "potential star at every weight" statement, I was being a little hyperbolic, but these are next years freshman. How many formerly nationally ranked wrestlers are on this list?

125. McKee
133. Gliva
141. Jones
149. Lee, Bergeland
157. McIntosh, Crowe
165. Thomas
174. Allar, O'Reiley
184. Steffen
197. Joles
285. Steveson

My point was that, following these two recruiting classes, there's not a lot of money or opportunity left to go around and we can't hope to pull in a ton of top-end talent, but getting local guys at this level is still reasonable for the Gophers

If Jones, Gliva, and Bergeland are starting for us...we could be in trouble. We need more top end talent. I would also like to see the Carlson brothers in the mix around133/141...King would be nice too...I hope McIntosh is better then his state placing this year. Thomas might be a 157 lber and Allar at 165. I have no idea who would be 174 in 19/20 (think Krone can make it for one year... unless Webster Redshirts and cuts the next 2 years to wrestle it)
