One of the families may live in town but rumor has it they keep a Guernsey in the garage just for butter and yogurt.
Out of this whole debate about Metro vs Outstate this is by far the best post!. The very fact that you mention a Guernsey takes the cake for me. If you grew up on a dairy farm you know exactly what that is.

Just made my day!
If we haven't met, we should. If we have, reveal yourself in person. I grew up showing Guernseys as a young lad. I'm glad someone else other than me got a kick out of the reference.
That ain’t all you showed as a lad. ;)

This link might not work without the pay per view but Gable had a nice back flip after his finals win.

I noticed a few younger champions or top place winners this weekend.

Berge 8th champ
Peterson 8th champ Byron
Ballantane <<< spell check 9th champ
Cardinal 9th champ
Sokol will be back and he's a beast
Ryder R. 7th 3rd I think
Rohman 9th champ
Short 9th 2nd

I'm sure I'm missing more but that was just a few I remembered.

Elwood-7th grader, Class A, rallied but fell short. Good pluck for a 7th grader...don't know if he's related to the Seth Elwood from Medford that transferred to AV as a Sr.

Joey Thompson (10th, Maple Grove, 106) if he is able to put on some weight in the next few years is someone I’d love for the Gophers to look at. Just won what I see as one of the toughest brackets in the state.

State book said 7th...was he really an 8th grader? Maybe doing the HS redshirt thing...aka-'The Mark Hall Special Year" so he can win 6 titles as 5 is not enough....

Although the MSHSL loves Hall so much they included him among the 5x champs and the only 6x he Champion....heck they screwed up by making Berge a 3x champ, but not a 4x champ....

Gonna have to email the corrections to MSHSL...what an inept organization. They should put as asterisk next to Hall...or just retroactively remove his 6th title. Wrestling a year outside MN counts...

Gliva had 6 losses on the year?? Is it pessimistic to ask what I can realistically expect out of him in a maroon and gold singlet??

Back to the Willmar kids, I do find it interesting that Clay Carlson has not commited anywhere yet since he's a senior. He has a Richie Hammonds-like motor and would be a great addition to this stellar recruiting class.

Considering some people on here have him pegged as a 4 year starter, no, I don't think it's pessimistic to ask that question.

I haven't seen anyone peg him as a four year starter. If it happens, then great, it means he made real improvements in the room. I have no idea what weight he intends to wrestle, but one of the commentators for Track, who was a Simley person, implied that he doesn't cut at all, and that he expected him to be at 125 in college.

Some have predicted him as a 4 year starter. Heck, you yourself said he could be a 3 year starter and All American.

I guess it's just semantics, but when I say someone "could be" something or other, that's just my opinion on best case scenario, not a prediction of what will happen. I like to give the new guys the benefit of the doubt that they will improve in a college room.

Absolutely, and I wasn't really referring to you when I said some people have him as a 4 year starter. There are people on this board who have him listed as a 4 year starter in some of their lineup projections.
