Could Robb go Community college, redshirt and go back to a D1 school with 4 years left? Obviously he could go down a division to D2 or D3 like Webster, wrestle a year and go back to D1 (or is it only D3 since you don't sign NLI there?) Wonder if SDSU would release him.....

I don't see how that is any better than going to a D1 school and wrestling opens for a year and then having 4 years of eligibility left. He is probably going to redshirt one year anyway at most D1 schools. I think the transfer rule really hurts guys worse who have already burned their redshirt year.

it would be nice to have Both Lloyd and Robb in the Gopher Wrestling Room. there is room to grow with both of them and I would be so excited to see them wrestling for the Gophers going forward! that would be a nice boost to an already great recruiting class!

how did Moen do his RSFR year? again I would love to see him as a Gopher as well!

Keep in mind scholarship dollars would still have to be available to bring these kids in. This late in the year I would assume most schools have a majority of their scholarships accounted for.

Moen was like 8-7. Most losses coming to studs.

The reason is, if he goes to say NDSU or any D1 school and has to "sit a year"/redshirt, with him signing a NLI with SDSU for 18/19, I believe he can't get any scholarships money from any school...so even if he planned to redshirt next year, he can't get money to do it....if he goes NJCAA he might be able to get it if he went to a JUCO that gives money like some IA schools...granted, they probably won't give him money to RS...but he could probably go to RCTC...pay cheap tuition for some generals....redshirt, go D1 next year and wrestle 4 years.

Point is I believe since NJCAA is not governed by the NCAA, their NLI is different than an NCAA schools NLI...and you don't have to sit out...

So he must have his release to talk to other colleges?

Would be a nice consolation prize for them at 157 after losing out on the Brayton Lee sweepstakes.

Robb cannot go to another Big 12 school and get a scholarship. He has to transfer out of conference

If they get Robb it's not a consolation, I'd be a huge improvement. IMO

Lee and Robb are both studs. Neither are a consolation prize. What weight is the little Russian gunna wrestle in college?

Over Lee? No disrespect to Robb, I love watching him, but I think Lee will have the better college career

I sure as hell hope the Gophers do everything in their power to get Peyton Robb in maroon and gold. Any talk otherwise is going to end up with us being pissed off about missing out on another elite college wrestler from MN. You lose all credibility if you question Robb's college potential. IMO

I think Robb is going to have a very good college career. I just didn’t agree with the statement that he’d be a huge improvement over Lee.

Wasn’t meant as a shot at Robb, who I think highly of, just pointing out they were left empty handed after Lee chose MN.

Would love to see Robb at MN as well.

Unless Lee can make 149, I doubt we'd see Robb. I'm not saying he's not the better option but we have Allar, Thomas and Lee.

149 Lee
157 Robb or Thomas
165 Robb or Thomas
174 Allar
184 Webster.....Kennedy please
197 Joles and future recruit

Lee could start at 149, but he doesn’t know if he is a career 149.

I think I've read Allar's dad state on here that he'll be 165. Always a chance he gets too big in a few years and is 174.

The reality is great teams have log jams and people fighting for spots. Nothing is guarantee. Get on campus and get to work or get passed by someone that does. Robb could come in as part of this great recruiting class and help rebuild MN wrestling.

Have we found out the backstory on Macintosh’s poor state tourney results? Regardless, I’m liking how he came back to win Sr Nationals.....likely we see him at 149, correct?
