Gross, Hall, Berge, Venz, Stoll, Llyod, Robb, Kerkvliet, Okie State guy; forgot name, soon to be Kennedy..who else am I missing?
Anyways, that's 2 NCAA champs, 4 AA's and multiple time AA's. The Gophers had 1 AA last year.
But the Gophers have that new training facility.. They didn’t when all these guys were leaving high school.
If you don’t see the difference between past results and changing for the future I don’t know what to tell you.
“We didn’t get Hall, Gross or Venz, we better not build these facilities!”

If Robb didn't want to be Gopher the first time around I don't see why people assume he wants to be now. If he decides against SDSU, I'd bet good money on him ending up in Lincoln.
If Robb didn’t want to be a Husker the first time around..... He wanted to be a Jackrabbit coached by Bono and Reader. Circumstances obviously changed.
Grapple6, it was my prediction 3 weeks ago and it's still my prediction now :D
Good call! Robb to Nebby. May I ask, will the Vikings be in the super bowl in the next ten years? Unfortunately, I don't have an inside source on that one, but I'd love to say yes. In Captain Kirk we trust.

Then maybe the NCAA needs to close the loop holes, here is something simple. No RTC can be associated with (a scholarship offering institution). Coaches cannot overlap, they cannot train at the same location and the USOC should prevent them from accepting money from their college's RTC otherwise you lose your amateur status. If u go to PSU, you train somewhere else after college. If u go to OH St. you train somewhere else, same for MN Storm too...
This well-funded RTC loophole will continue to damage the sport. Not every RTC near a college like the U is funded like PSU....it should be stopped. One easier way is that a person cannot receive funding from their nearest RTC for up to 5 years after college or the school loses any accomplishment it earned with you on the roster, but that is IMPOSSIBLE cause the school would argue it can't be penalized for something you do after school....so I don't know what else you can do.
So you want the USOC to harm itself for the betterment of the NCAA? That’s insane.
Exactly. There is nothing stopping other institutions from using PSU's blue print. Minnesota has a great relationship with Minnesota Storm, unfortunately Greco doesn't translate to folkstyle as well as freestyle does. Yes! Replicate the PSU model and make it better. I'd rather we build to beat PSU than tear them down.

Offering parents job oppertunities obviously helps as well for Penn State
It happens everywhere: - David Carr's dad will be the head RTC coach for the Cyclones - Lee Kemps son is going to Fresno St & Lee is moving out to CA & hopes to be brought on as the RTC coach In college basketball you will see a big time recruits dads get hired when they are juniors in HS. I believe The Gopher basketball team did that with Tyus Jones dad, but he decided to go play at UNC (or was it Duke?).
David Carr's "Dad" is a three time NCAA champ,Olympic Bronze medalist, and an ISU alum. Lee Kemp is one of the best wrestlers the USA has ever produced. So these Dad hires for ISU and FSU are at least legit from a wrestling stand point. What does Hall's Dad actually do at PSU?
Not positive, but I’m pretty sure hall’s dad works as a model for a work boot company

I thought Hall's Dad worked for the company that runs the camps at PSU...
Wonder when he will find a job that has nothing to do with constantly being around his kid? God forbid he live in a different city or state or something from his kid

I think it's the typical father of a millennial that needs to be one of the worst helicopter parents. It's kind of pathetic. I don't "care" Happydance23, you seem to confuse "caring" and talking about a helicopter parent online who moved his kid around all over the midwest/south while in middle and high school, essentially "redshirted" him in middle school to chase the coveted "6x State Champ" honor in MN and then high tailed it out to the ultimate bandwagon that is Pedophile State Univ. instead of joining his local team that he could of helped lead and overtake an Evil Empire...go figure he had to jump on PSU's team since his son's school was willing to give him an income/job...it's disgusting in Basketball and Football, and even if it's not "illegal" in wrestling, it still stinks and it's pathetic. But do I care so much that I sit and cry about it, no. I just think it's disgusting and he's pathetic (Hall's dad).

Not usually a stickler, but it's time for someone else's generation to be blamed for the times we're living in.

I think its pathetic to make judgement on someone who is taking care of their family and making decisions they feel are best for them. Mark is an exceptional talent and young man .....it took exceptional dedication and sacrifices from his family. Instead of looking like some angry person....enjoy what Mark Hall has been able to accomplish and what he will accomplish in the future. Its easy to sit behind a computer and degrade someone that you probably dont even know.

What exactly did Minnesota have to offer during Hall's recruiting cycle... The athletes were busy "partying" and getting a legend fired. The These types of actions are noticed by recruits...If you think they were in a place to land Hall you are sadly mistaken.

So back to recruits.....I am very excited to watch some of the Gopher boys compete this weekend. Especially excited for 70 KG and 125. We will get a good look at how Lee stacks up with some very good talent.

Gotta wonder what Alex Lloyd is thinking with both his coaching staff and Robb leaving SDSU. Good for him if he stays committed to the school, that’d show an exceptional level of commitment.
Doesn’t mean I don’t want him in maroon and gold though.

Do you honestly feel that your parents did a better job of raising you to become a better human being than Mark Sr. has done raising Mark Jr.? Mark Jr. only received one B in high school, is a world class athlete and anyone who has met him knows just how great of a person he is.
Do you have any idea of what it took for Senior to become Jr's. dad? Mark Sr. is anything but pathetic. You may not agree with his decision-making but the reality is, Senior is a GREAT dad.
Pathetic? Once again, many of us just got a little bit dumber after reading another one of your posts.

That failed this year. He is regressing under Carl
Failed???? 2nd in NCAAs this last year us failing? How many titles do you have?
I don't think he failed, it's more like Reality set in. If they stay at the same weight, Idon't think hall will beat Zahid in the future Didn't Mark major Zahid in the pound of pound in high school? He lost as a junior, got done help in Minnesota and majored him as a senior, and now in their first meeting i was surprised by what i saw.
Tell me what a great coach baldy is again? Great recruiter yes.

Great recruiter yes. They were pretty close match up last season and Hall got lucky last year with the singlet grab. This year Zahid improved his offense and more importantly his defense. Hall will have a very difficult time breaking Zahid defense in the future.
In this year's NCAA finals Zahid looked like a future Olympian.
Hall really looks like he should be at 165 but I don't think he has that option. I don't think he could beat Joseph either.

You have me curious. Well, I think my mother did a better job yes---do I have Hall's talent, no of course not. But I sure did learn to be more independent then he apparently is if his Daddy had to move to PSU and take a job with the camps there so he could hover.
I also wasn't held back a year.
I believe chasing "elite teams" like Cael has over at Pedophile St. U to join instead of trying to carve his own path is kinda pathetic....I don't need to know either one of them to have an opinion.
As for someone else's comment about him not being a millennial, I don't know his birth year, I assume he's at least born in 1997, but maybe he's turning 22 later this year ...if you know his birth year, that would be helpful.
Regardless, whether he is a millennial (born in 96) or Gen Z (born in 97), his public behavior/decisions is very millennial-like.

It has no impact on your life what Mark Sr. does or doesn't do. You also don't know the whole scope of their situation. If Mark doesn't like his dad around it is his fault if he doesn't voice that.
Just mind your own business.
