Grappler-- I assume he is a late signing Sr.? He is not ranked by Intermat, any stats/accomplishments?
Is being ranked by intermat the barometer?

Someone was wrong about him going to Nebraska...would've been nice to have him.

As for Intermat, I like their rankings usually....seems like they are pretty accurate.

Good to see! I wonder if Robb and Brown freed up some scholarship money for him.

I'm sure it's been brought up, but I couldn't find it. Any word on Cashman? I was just watching his US open video and he looked small but he's good. Is he planning to go the freestyle route? SDSU could use a 125 pounder with Brown leaving.

From what I heard is Bono was not very high on the Carlson boys. Perhaps Caldwell/Hahn had a different perspective. But yes more money is also available and that helps as well.

Perhaps Colten's lack of success last year may have played into that a little bit. Just guessing, but it couldn't have helped. Maybe a regime change will be good for Colten too. He still has three years left. I'm rooting for both of them. I hope he goes back up to 157, after winning State at 160 in HS. 149 didn't go so well this past year. If he was taking one for the team to do it, then good, but I am hoping he can have more success at a heavier and, perhaps, more natural weight.

Yeah, it was pretty sad to watch Carlson last year after the fight he put up his whole freshman year. You just don't get better when you're cutting that much weight. I'd rather see him be a backup at 157 this year and improve than make that cut again.

Yeah, me too. The only problem is 149. Do they pull Lloyd's redshirt? Do they move Gross and Pohlmeyer up? Do they try to pull in a transfer?

Dang, they were already gonna be tough. They could make a run at Penn State next year.

Edit: Probably not next year I guess, but the following two seasons could be interesting.

Steveson and Lee have been awarded the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award for their respective states. It is given by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, and uses excellence in wrestling, citizenship, scholastics, and community service as criteria.

I think it's the typical father of a millennial that needs to be one of the worst helicopter parents. It's kind of pathetic. I don't "care" Happydance23, you seem to confuse "caring" and talking about a helicopter parent online who moved his kid around all over the midwest/south while in middle and high school, essentially "redshirted" him in middle school to chase the coveted "6x State Champ" honor in MN and then high tailed it out to the ultimate bandwagon that is Pedophile State Univ. instead of joining his local team that he could of helped lead and overtake an Evil Empire...go figure he had to jump on PSU's team since his son's school was willing to give him an income/job...it's disgusting in Basketball and Football, and even if it's not "illegal" in wrestling, it still stinks and it's pathetic. But do I care so much that I sit and cry about it, no. I just think it's disgusting and he's pathetic (Hall's dad).
You have me curious. Do you honestly feel that your parents did a better job of raising you to become a better human being than Mark Sr. has done raising Mark Jr.? Mark Jr. only received one B in high school, is a world class athlete and anyone who has met him knows just how great of a person he is.

Do you have any idea of what it took for Senior to become Jr's. dad? Mark Sr. is anything but pathetic. You may not agree with his decision-making but the reality is, Senior is a GREAT dad.

Pathetic? Once again, many of us just got a little bit dumber after reading another one of your posts.
Well, I think my mother did a better job yes---do I have Hall's talent, no of course not. But I sure did learn to be more independent then he apparently is if his Daddy had to move to PSU and take a job with the camps there so he could hover.

I also wasn't held back a year.

I believe chasing "elite teams" like Cael has over at Pedophile St. U to join instead of trying to carve his own path is kinda pathetic....I don't need to know either one of them to have an opinion.

As for someone else's comment about him not being a millennial, I don't know his birth year, I assume he's at least born in 1997, but maybe he's turning 22 later this year ...if you know his birth year, that would be helpful.

Regardless, whether he is a millennial (born in 96) or Gen Z (born in 97), his public behavior/decisions is very millennial-like.
Mind your own business. It has no impact on your life what Mark Sr. does or doesn't do. You also don't know the whole scope of their situation. If Mark doesn't like his dad around it is his fault if he doesn't voice that.

Just mind your own business.
Honestly what’s the difference between what Mr. Hall does and what most youth wrestling parents do? Difference is he’s getting paid to do the “behind the scenes” stuff that helps programs thrive. I personally have no problem with it at all.

Youth wrestling parents have a 5-12 year old child.

Mr Hall has a 20 (?) year old adult.

Just saying.

InterMat’s Recruiting Ranking

4. Minnesota

Top 100 recruits: No. 1 Gable Steveson (Apple Valley, Minn.), No. 7 Brayton Lee (Brownsburg, Ind.), No. 32 Patrick Mckee (St. Michael-Albertville, Minn.), No. 58 Ryan Thomas (St. Paris Graham, Ohio), and No. 87 Garrett Joles (Boyceville, Wis.)

Additional notables: Kasper McIntosh (Portage, Ind.)

Commentary: After a stretch of relatively down recruiting seasons that followed the Gophers' top-ranked class of 2010, this marks the third time in the last four years that Minnesota has brought in a top ten class. It's also the first "true" class for head coach Brandon Eggum. He was appointed as interim coach in the fall of 2016 before getting full time job later during the 2016-17 season. Three-time world freestyle champion Steveson is being talked about as an immediate title contender at 285 pounds, a weight class where both finalists graduate; while Lee and McKee possess high-end potential after each possibly redshirts.

1. Penn State
2. Ohio State
3. NC State
4. Minnesota
5. Nebraska
6. Michigan
7. Stanford
8. Missouri
9. North Carolina
10. Princeton
