Just looking at what we have at every weight I have determined the main focus of the recruiting class of 2016 should be at these three weights 174,184, and Hwt. With That I determine these are the wrestlers they should be targeting M Hall (obviously) 174 B Breske 174/184 K Bey 174 K Moore 184/197 O Webster 184 S Streck HWT to fill in until Gable The worst case scenario is all these other wrestlers commit else ware and Hall leaves us hanging in October. Best case scenario we land Hall, Moore and Streck |

I agree with those individuals being our main targets as well. I think we get Webster, just gut feeling. Hall the next most likely but even he is a 50/50 at best. Don't know about the rest but my gut tells me we don't get them. I hope to be wrong! PBS- is Bey really thinking OTC at this point(as flo's profile suggests) or will he go the college route? Gophers in the sweepstakes? Heck of a talent! |

Mr.Early, is there any chance you can convince him to come to the U? He could train Greco with Coach Chandler. Seems like a win-win. |

I don't know if it would be a very economical move to go after Streck. Great heavyweights who are willing to stick with wrestling and not go after football glory are in huge demand, there just aren't that many of them and there are a lot of schools that need them. He could be a full ride type of guy. If the plan is to bring him in and start him for two years until Gable comes in, I don't know if that's a great idea because Steveson will certainly tie up a lot of scholorship money. I'm starting to feel a little more confident about our chances to get Hall and I think Webster might actually be a better get than Moore; he beat him head to head, he has a little brother who is probably going to be pretty good, and his only weakness is his weakness which is something that we are very good at dealing with here at Minnesota. I want to see us get Hall, Webster and a pretty good heavyweight. I'll be thrilled if we can get that. |

If we are simply looking for a stop gap before Gable takes over at HWT... I think we would be best served to look at the JUCO route so we don't tie up scholly money on two guys at one weight. |

Posted this over on the Freestyle/Greco board, but figured it belongs here too. My friend who is a huge Gopher wrestling fan wanted me to share his thoughts and what he had to say about MN wrestling and current recruits (and future recruits): "Younglings, younglings gather 'round. The Brotherhood of MN Gopher wrestling is strong, as the recruits have shown in Fargo this year! You will find only what you bring in! To the youngsters - it's not too late to belong to the Gopher Brotherhood Force. Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future to see. Many strong to train you be part of. Yes the Force is talking to you Keegan Moore, Owen Webster, Brady Berge, Mark Hall, and whomever else from MN and beyond has the passion and heart to be Gopher Jedi! Use the force and stay the heck away from Iowa and Penn State - DARKSIDE you are not!" Posted Image |

I count 5 that have committed or signed with the Gophers. Freestyle 1st: Stroker, Early 2nd: McKee, Streifel Greco 1st: McKee, Brancale (Brancale and Brolsma had good runs in freestyle but didn't AA, Berg went 2-2) |
