Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
I’d imagine that Desanto bumps to 141 after a year? Lee-Cashman-Desanto
I assume as well. I would prefer Lee, Desanto, Morin though if an option
I would too, and there's still two years of Lugo to keep Murin down at 141. They could the redshirt game with him if they wanted.

2018: 125: Lee (Cashman redshirts) 133: DeSanto
2019: 125: Cashman (Lee Redshirts) 133: DeSanto
2020: 125: Lee 133: Cashman (DeSanto redshirts)
2021: 125: Lee 133: Cashman 141: DeSanto 149: Murin

I don't think they'll do it, but they could.
The only year Lee isn’t in the lineup is possibly ‘20 for an Olympic redshirt

Carter Starocci beat Kennedy today and is unsigned and under ranked nationally. He'd be a huge get with PK assumingly going to Iowa.
Kennedy was 9 lbs under weight at second day weigh-ins. I’m not one for making excuses but he was visibly undersized for that bracket. If there was a 75kg division, he rolls everybody.

Are Olympic redshirts really necessary? And what indication do you have that Lee is going to take one.

Look at what both Snyder and Cox accomplished in 2016.

Only two MN wrestlers on the top 100 Juniors big board (#8 Kennedy & #92 Joey Thompson).
So is the state talent down or is this an oversight?

Who from Minnesota has been an AA recently? While theres been a few hammers at the top, a handful of high recruits from Minnesota have done nothing in College.

Minnesota had 5 this year. Gross, Hall, Zilverberg, Venz, and Stoll. I believe that put them in something like a tie for 5th for the most All Americans by a state, which I would think puts them really close to the top per capita. Flo always favors the east coast when it comes to recruiting, especially once you get outside about the top 30 or so.

The ranking are based upon their high school results, not how previous graduates have fared in college.

I get it, but if anything, they overrate Minnesota wrestles.

Bo Steveson
Benick
Thorn
Rose; he had medical issues
McKee
Short
Ok. St. guy who just transferred. I always forget his name.
Webster
Broc Berge

How many AA's on that list so far? One for Thorn?

Talent is down. Steveson was the last big AV out-of-state transfer, there's going to be a bit of a hit to the talent pool as a result. You can argue as to if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but it's certainly a thing.

Seriously?? All of those guys deserved to be ranked.

What is your deal?? You wouldn't have ranked them? There are a ton of kids on that list that won't pan out, as there are kids not on the list that will do great.

Apple Valley no longer bringing in big name transfers from out of state (Steveson, Steveson, McCauley, Faulk, Hall, etc. . . ) negatively effects the number of top-flight recruits in the state.

It might take away from another possible Top 100 but it has nothing to do with the development of Minnesota wrestling.

I agree 100%. If we average 5 top 100 wrestlers per year and one of them on average is an AV transfer, we are down to 4 top 100 wrestlers per year. That's all that I'm saying.

Is there? I honestly haven't been following highschool wrestling very closely lately. I know that Shakopee gets some transfers, but not too many out of state that I know of. AV used to get one or two every year when Jackson was there, and they generally won at least one state title.

I am all about getting local kids more opportunities and recognition if possible, who has won or consistently placed high at a national event that isn’t ranked in the state?
Last season Flo had 9 MN kids ranked, taking into account all three of our divisions (A,AA,AAA) put together only equals one division in PA or Ohio for number of schools in each division I think we are getting a fair amount of kids ranked kids.

Verballed via twitter last night. He “wanted to commit early to help the Brands and Mark Parry develop a recruiting strategy for 2020”

I paraphrased that a bit, but the kid seems very smart.

We knew it was coming, but it doesn't take away the sting. Boy, Iowa is shaping up to give Penn State a run in a year or two.
