White is either heading to Nebraska or Ohio State, Gophers are not in the running. I do wish him well, he's a good kid.

Thanks for the downer !

Early looks to be the future at 157 for the forseeable future and Stroker at 149. I don't see any reason they should be moving up anytime soon.

Not sure what happens with Short or Wanzek in the near future...... going to get interesting the next few seasons!

Wanzek will probably be at 174 for awhile...he'll need to keep adding strength. Next year, maybe they have Jeske wrestle in opens at 174 and start building him into the next 174lber...(think Webster is the next 184lber--after Bobby for 1 year)...

Next year if Early is better at 157...then Kingsley and Krone probably fight it out at 165.

Short as a Jr. and Stroker as a RFr. at 149....

Appears to be a foot injury suffered at the JCC Pizza Ranch Invite. From what I'm hearing it doesn't sound good for his season. Real bummer. However, I hope those murmurs are overstated and he is able to get back on the mat to finish his HS career on top.

Quoting limited to 4 levels deepI had heard that Isaiah was a little late in realizing the importance of good grades and although he did realize it, and did what he was suppose to do by bring those grades up like he was capable of doing he still might have to wait a season to join the Gophers. I actually am very pleased to hear this if it is true since it shows growth and maturity. Whether he ends up with the Gophers or not I think he is already a winner.

Don't get me wrong, I want the young man on our team, very very much, I'm just already impressed with his growth.

Go Gophers
I saw the same thing.
Qualifying for college and being ready for it are two different things.
I would like to see White come here, but hasn't been 152 lbs the last two seasons, which could mean he is done growing. That would put him about the same size as Stroker and Early. 165/174 will be more of a need, but who knows maybe one of them will grow.
I would think that with LE3's frame, if he hits the weights hard he could very easily get to 165 possibly even 174? How tall is Fredy? Watching him at the scuffle (albeit online streaming), he doesn't look overly big for 149 right now, I would assume he could stay there? But if he's still growing he could move up to 157 as well. If Mr. White stays close in size, he could fit very well at 157 in two years after a redshirt.
149: Short/ Stroker
157: White
165: LE3??

Obviously this is all speculation, but I'm going to go ahead and guess that if he wants to be a gopher, he'll find a way on the mat.

I heard from a reliable source that he had foot surgery last week and is out for the remainder of the season including the MN vs. USA Dream Team meet in New Prague...really too bad.

That really is too bad. I feel really bad for the young man. I'm hoping the surgery was a success and he recovers completely so he can take this disappointment and make hay at the next level with the Gophs. He has a load of talent!

Mitch McKee won the Cheesehead today at 138. Lucas Jeske took 2nd at 182 loosing to Beau Breske 3-2. Does Jeske actually weigh that much? The last match of his I saw was against Joe Smith at 160.

Patrick McKee, Parriott, Berge, Hall, Steveson all won titles.

I am excited to see the progression of Jeske. I think their was an article earlier this year that said he planned to make 170, but then decided against cutting weight.

He already made 170 for the clash I am pretty sure.

Good luck at OSU White. Would have been tough sitting behind Berge at MN :D

Also, Logan Steiber has recently signed on as a coach at OSU.

I'll bet he does.

It would be interesting to know the percentages of a brother following another to a division one program. I'll bet they attend the same school more than 50% of the time.

Come over to Dinkytown Gable and Brady.

I have a bad feeling that he's going to be another one that will get away from the U, even though his brother is there.

One thing that I believe hurts the gophers is there lack of national champs in weights other than heavyweight. We only have two, Ness in 2010 and Schlatter in 2006.

What do you consider HWT? Is 190/197 HWT? Hartung and Hahn weren't HWT, but national champs.
