Why can't he and Paulson be a Minnesota advocate at Pinnacle? |

I would certainly think they are ... look at the recruits. I believe McKee, Marko, Webster and Jeske all have trained with those coaches. The MN recruits we lost this year, outside of Griffin, we're not part of the program. With a giant maroon and gold flag on the wall and Jared's framed bracket from the NCAA tournament hanging on the wall, I'd bet they nod towards dinkytown. ;) |

RTC stands for Regional Training Center. There are many of them- Minnesota, Ohio, etc.... |

They absolutely are. I was looking at a broader advocate with the top athletes throughout the country that are competing on cadet and junior world teams and attend trading camps at the OTC. I wouldn't worry about either leaving Pinnacle as they have a great thing going. Just was throwing it out there. Will be interesting who they hire now with two openings available. Perhaps a Tervel or someone similar on the end of their competitive career steps in for the Slay position. |

That ticks me off if true. The coach of the national team should not be offering any opinions or advice about college choices to the athletes. |

I agree. Although, I don't believe he has a malicious intent behind it. If a kid asks for advice, he shares his opinion. He is of the opinion that some universities overtrain which hurts long term development. Not an insurmountable thing to overcome during recruitment, but it could be depending on their relationship and trust in Slay. A fresh face could be good. |

Maybe Ramos would like to come to train in Minnesota? Ramos lied to, misled and betrayed by his coaches. http://www.flowrestling.org/video/966258-ramos-feels-betrayed-by-iowa |

Not saying he doesn't have a legitimate gripe, but I don't think that's the time or place for it. Take the loss like a man and inform the world of these facts on Monday or Tuesday. Now it just looks like he's blaming other people for him getting beat, and I don't think Brands being in Dennis's corner had anything to do with Ramos getting gutted for 8. |

If Romas goes anywhere, it sounds like he would head back to ILL. Great passion but no offense. He looked really small compared to Garnett and Dennis. Just me, but I hate to see guys advance on criteria just because they sat around and waited on their opponent (the aggressor) to make a mistake (Frank M. wrestled same style). |

Take a shot Ramos! The days of sitting around and waiting to score are over. That 1st match was just painful to watch. If he had issues they should have been addressed months ago, not immediately following an Olympic trials loss. |

His issue was what happened at the Olympic trials though. This is a tough subject that only a few people if anyone know the answer to. Could he just be upset he lost and having excuses, sure. He also could have lost some focus after being lied to. The coaches could have told Dennis to attack a certain weakness of Ramos. It was a tough situation and the immediacy of the interview did not help. As fans of the US, we all want these guys to be offensive. However many other countries have more defensive styles and offensiveness can sometimes be our detriment. I'd rather watch Jordan Burroughs than a Jake Varner but in the end, the medal is all that matters. |

What about his tweets? Was a bit surprised both Lee AND Teasdale committed. They got the #83rd overall recruit, 120-Jack Wagner this year... Jr. class verbals--#18 and #32 recruits Mejia and Renteria along with now #1 overall Lee---all 120lbers. So. class verbal--#3 overall 113lber Teasdale... This shows how stupid those rumors were that GS, GT and RB-Y were all gonna go to the U. Iowa is recruiting the crap out of the lower weights. I wonder if either one of the other Jr. 120lbers decides to de-commit and sign somewhere else. I am sure one of the 3 120lbers from the class of '17 will be a 133lber in college... Regardless, with 5 guys in the top 100 over three recruiting years projected at most to 2-3 weight classes (and that is if a 120lber can really fill out to 141 in 2-3 years), then there will be 2-3 guys sitting for the majority of their career. J should send the Dardanes down to Chicagoland and have a talk with Renteria....if there is one guy you can pick off, it might be someone that MN has a strong connection with their school...that is if they can't get Vega. |
