Minnesota Wrestling is BROTHERHOOD! Any recruits that want a top notch education and a hard working wrestling team that cares for each other as a teammate and brother, get up to MPLS.

I am looking at the rankings and I guess looking forward I would like to see the following still commit this year:
Kenneth Brinson
Michael Johnson Jr.

next year:
Pletcher
Parriott
White
Hall
Bey
Moore

Two young guns to watch closely:
Obviously Gable Stevenson
Brey Walker is a beast! Huge kid I think a great get down the road if we cannot get Stevenson.

I am confident that Lizak will develop with a little muscle he is solid on top (a little messy at times but he is only a freshman) looking forward to seeing how the rest of the weights fill out next year. lots of possibilities... next year with a lot of hard work I believe the Gophers can push to be a top 5 team next year.

I really hope to see Hall as a gopher, I love the AV program and what they bring to the state, the way they push other programs to get better, both coaches and wrestlers to get better in the off season.

I know my list is a dream but you never know what can happen.

I think Johnson is headed to Yale.

I think that Carr and Wright are good project guys who could turn into solid contributors, but I think that 174 will be a difficult weight for us next year. With our holes at 133, 174, and 197, I don't have high expectations for 2016. We could really use some JUCO help if there are any solid guys out there.

125. Petry
133. Brancale
141. Thorn
149. Short
157. Kingsley
165. Wanzek
174. Wright
184. Pfarr
197. Berge
285. Kroells
What about Jordan Rothers
Or Colin Carr he's had three 2nd place finishes at 174 this year.
Well, I had to pick one and I'm a big fan of Wright with how he's done this year. He's 22-7 right now, that's pretty good. I didn't realize before someone brought it up, but it would be really cool of Rothers won it and it was an all MN line-up

Another name to start recruiting: Beau Breske. I'd be pretty pumped with Hall, Breske, and Bey. Getting those three guys, plus McKee, could merit the top recruiting class of 2016. Hopeful thinking, but maybe not that far fetched! These three could potentially cover any of these weights 165, 174, 184, or 197 in the future.

Bey might play football I've heard. I'd rather get Hall, White, and K. Moore or Breske.

Anyone know anything about Joey Davis, Notre Dame College? At one time there were rumors he may want to transfer up at some point in his career. Seems like he would be a great fit here next year at 174, if he can qualify academically.

Is he a Jr. this year or Sr.?

He's won it at least twice right?

If he transfers next year I'm gonna be upset he didn't this year! Would still welcome him next season.

He hadn't lost in college coming into this year, but wasn't eligible 1st semester. Not sure about 2nd semester, but he would have at least a year left.

I'm excited to see next years recruiting class. This past year was a great start to something special if all goes as planned. I really hope we get our home state kid's to commit, Hall and Parriott. I highly doubt Moore is coming to Minnesota, would it be nice, yes but he'll probably follow his brothers to Northern Iowa.

I think we really need to get at least on of Hall, Breske or Bey, and I would love to see the get two of them with one of them going up to 184 which is also a big need for us in this recruiting class.

I'm hearing MMA for Bey after high school. College in not in the plans anywhere.

White is a beast but might need to go the long way to get to college, might not have taken gpa seriously enough to start with from what I am being told here in the Chicago area.

I'm not sure we even have spots available for either of them. Would we like to get them, sure but how many top recruits want to ride the bench? Let's just say we land Hall, that only leaves 1 spot available depending on what weights they all wrestle in college.

149: Hopefully Parriott
157: Stroker, Early
165: Early, Stroker
174: Hall
184: Steveson or he's at 197 and this spot is open
197: Steveson or recruit

I hope we land Brady Berge the following year. At the end of the day, if we can just add our home state prodigys in Hall, Parriott, and Berge we should be in great shape. We will need to find a Hvy for a few years and could add another top recruit in the 125- 133 range to push what we have and Mckee in the future.

Gable Steveson. Graduates in 2018-so there might be a year to fill if he redshirts. Sam Stoll will have left Iowa by then and transferred to MN, so he can fill the spot between Kroells and Steveson.

Mark Hall was in attendance for the Iowa v Virginia dual today :(

I don't think he ends up at Iowa but I would prefer he not even consider it!

One poster said Hall does not want to redshirt and wishes to compete right away which would put him in the lineup with Stroker, Early and Steveson as seniors. All four appear to be good buddies so that is promising IMO.

If he's good enough to AA or win it there is no reason for him to redshirt. He also has the Olympic route in 2016 as well. He is ranked right now in the top 10 so it isn't far fetched even at his young age. The kid seems like a great human being which is what we need. This year has proven that good people turn out good wrestlers/teamates. This team has been as close as I have seen any other team and I for one like that. Dardanes, Ness, Storley and Schiller are all quiet, humble and hardworking guys. I'll take that over cocky and flashy any day.

the 2015/16 season would be his Sr. year in HS...so it wouldn't be aw "OLY redshirt" option. 2019/20 would be which would be between his Jr. and Sr. year.

He's so good that you forget how young he is. He's just a little kid, well not so little in size but in age and maturity. Nothing but up for him in his life. Good luck to you young man.

Not to take anything away from Barrone because he won and a wins a win, but Early is wrestling with a torn labrum. Quoted below from a article I read....

Early won the state championship at 145 as a junior. He missed part of this season after suffering a torn labrum in his right shoulder. He plans to postpone surgery and is wrestling with a harness.

Must be different rules there or the clock had expired and the ref had a delayed call.
