If we're talking Gophers recruiting better character traits then let ASU have RBY🤔
With the current situation in Dinkytown, I don't believe the Gophers can be to "choosy" and pass on a wrestler like RBY.

RBY is a fine young man. Any University would be lucky to have him.

This is flat out dumb! Means nothing. Still has to get past girlfriends, cars, parties, ACT's, and growing up.

The thing you are missing is the fact that all top kids are buying into the PSU formula and program at a young age.

Makes sense. They have been winning the NC consistently since the kid was in schoolboys. PSU got a huge addition when Cael went there, and for the first time the Pennsylvania kids have a reason to stay close to home, where in the past they would go elsewhere I want to say PSU dominance will run out but let's face it, 5 programs have won an NCAA championship since 1989, not a lot of parity and PSU is on top right now. I don't know if I would say buying in to the formula as much as these kids just want to win, and PSU is winning right now.

The Gophers need an early commit from Gable and RBY to get some momentum rolling.

I also disagree with the practice of committing so early. My track record of posting shows that I've been anti-early-commitment. I just figured it was worth mentioning, with his ranking.

With everything going on with the U right now would it be wise to hire a major addition to the coaching staff? A Kyle Dake, David Taylor, Brent Metcalf, or Kyven Gadsen? Someone who is into freestyle and young and can connect with kids? I know its wishful thinking but the competitive side of me does not want to see a Gopher slide!

Maybe they should stay away from drug dealers instead. I believe that would be the better option.

And Minnesota isn't going to land any top recruits until the coaching mess is settled. A few bad apples and wrong decisions destroyed this programs reputation.

Why would an elite athlete commit to a program when they do not know what the near future will hold. There is no guarantee J or his staff will be there in the near future.

And there are no assumptions in the above post. It is fact that drugs were being dealt and the future of the coaching staff is in question.

These are what I call assumptions...
Did you listen to Kare11 or Flo giving their support to the coach. I would rather be optimistic!!!!

Whatever. Athletes and parents are not going to choose a drama filled program.

One of the top recruits for this year is looking at a exit plan for himself if things don't get straighten out. This is and will have a big impact on recruiting. It's my opinion that the only way to save the program is to have J step down or remove him, and bring in someone like perry or Hahn. I would be surprised if someone like berge comes he with J as the head coach.

Take your blinders off it is common sense not speculation. The U was struggling to get top recruits before the Xanax issue, with all the turmoil, most recruits will be looking at Iowa, PSU, OK state, ect... And if you don't think cael and Brands aren't using the drama to their advantage, you are sadly mistaken. 10-14 athletes were involved and the head coach is in hot water, it is a big deal and will hurt recruiting until J is removed.

It's all speculation at this point he said she said no charges. We will probably never have all the information. Let it play out. If you believe everything posted online that's a lot of back n forth. Give it a week or two before you listen to chicken little.

Read the police report, it's not speculation when members of the team admit to the allegations and the timeline matches the report. There are no charges because you have to be caught with the drugs to be charged, the case is only built on hearsay which won't hold up in the court of law or an appeals court. But that does not mean wrongdoing did not occur, the U doesn't need to meet the same burden of proof to expel students or fire the head coach.
