There is also the possibility that Snyder moves to heavyweight internationally at some point, considering how young he is. Gable will be heavyweight here on out. |

Bergeland seems like a good under the radar type of guy who will continue to improve in college. If I'm remembering right, he had a great junior duals tournament this summer. |

Have not heard too many names of wrestlers on the gophers radar fro 2017. I have heard Bergland, Berge and Warner but not much else out there that is left. Anyone heard anyone else? |

As far as I know most weekends in October and early November are recruiting weekends. I saw Gable Steveson was hanging out with Fredy Stroker at the Gopher football game. Well at least we have the Vikings to lure football fans. |

Jeez, they need to start clear of Gopher football as a recruiting tool. The NC State game played in a hurricane had more offense than the gophers on Saturday. |

Conner Brown impressed at IAwrestles event. A poster shared this info after one of IA's guys said SDSU was the front runner with two teams still in play. With Lowes history I wonder if MN is in play? Even if not, a good Bobbe Lowe spotting is always noteworthy. Below follows the message. Brown's a 3xer from here in MO. He's got like 5 losses in his career, all coming his freshman year. The kid is an animal that is coached by Bobbe Lowe, former Oak Grove wrestler who went on to be an AA for J Rob and the Goofs. Oak Grove is a small school (2A - 4 classes now in MO) with a steep tradition. I believe he wrestles for MoWest during the off-season which is why I think Dom Bradley (Blue Springs/MU alum) was with him last night. |

Not elite though. He got beat pretty good in the finals by and Elite wrestler. If you want to beat Penn State, you need ELITE wrestlers. No disrespect at all...... |

Poster on the Iowa board is reporting Berge has narrowed his list to Iowa and Penn State. I don't really view either school as a great fit, even if he can hold 149 which seems unrealistic. Iowa is the better fit and appears that is the expected lean, which should be no surprise since he was described that way from day one. |

His trajectory indicates to me that he is a very solid prospect. In the past few year he has made huge improvements and I expect that to continue. We've made our hay on prospects like Steinhaus, Pfarr, and Tsafratowich and I expect him to be in that same mold. I expect him to catch up to Sasso at the college level. Sasso has gotten the best training that money can buy since he was a kid; he is near his peak. This is the first that I've heard of Bergeland traveling to a non-contiguous state for a tournament. He's got a lot of room to grow and he's growing very quickly. |

I don't think Berge is going to be great at 149. I think he'll end up wrestling like Short. He's not quick like a lower middle weight, he wrestles like a 74 pounder. Just my opinion. I think he has decided where he is going to wrestle and they are requesting him to be 152 and prove he is healthy and wrestle at that weight. EDIT: He does look quick for a highschool 52 pounder though. Edited by BoogieChillen, Oct 16 2016, 04:44 PM.

Settle down kittycat. I was just asking a question. You gonna answer it? True future: I just think at 149 Berge is going to wrestle defensive and a little flat like Short. Edited by BoogieChillen, Oct 16 2016, 06:15 PM.

I'm not going to act like I know the complete history of PSU wrestling. I know that they had plenty of individual successes before Cael came. The fact that they haven't been relevant as a Top 5 team for very long means nothing. They're the most relevant team in NCAA wrestling, currently, and it's been that way for a minute, now. |
