Lets's take it easy guys, Ethan is by far the best of the three.
I think Jacob is a great wrestler, he has a motor that just doesn't stop and boy is he quick. he isn't afraid of scramble situations and that gets him in trouble sometimes just due to being impatient at times and trying to make too much happen. Jacob still has a year to develop but I would to have him in the room and see what happens in 2016-2017. I haven't seen anything on Adam yet however if he is the youngest, I am anxious to get some video on him and see what his style is, if it is a mix of Jacob and Ethan WOW is all I could say is bring him in as well for 2019-2020 Te Giphers typically don't go after brothers so I wouldn't count on it ;)

Nd and cd are unique but i would say they both drive each other to be better.

I never thought Hall would go to Iowa, but it could happen. I do believe Brady Berge would go to Iowa before Hall would go. Iowa could get our two six-time state champs.
I vaguely remember him giving an interview where he said his top two programs were Minnesota or Okie State. He will have his pick where he wants to go, and I wish him luck. He might as well enjoy the experience!!!
Berge can win five, not six. He was runner up as an eighth grader, I believe. 3rd place. Lost to Gliva in the qtrs.

It was a premature call, 15/20 years ago i would not disagree as strongly. These kids are both elite wrestlers with great counter moves. He never had full control of his hips, he still had the ability to scoot, readjust, and score a td. The ref should wait for a definitive td! If he gets the second leg or a hip it is 2 points.
He never would have made that call in regulation and there was plenty of time for the winning wrestler to establish Control. You are absolutely correct: There was ample opportunity for the defensive wrestler to counter the move and remove doubt of the takedown - until it became obvious that he couldn't. When he lost control of his hands, lost control of his hips, and when offensive wrestler blocked his far leg and hip, all counter ability was lost - therefor the official had to give control. You have to recognize that the defensive wrestler had the use of only one arm - and that was around the offensive's chest, grasping nothing, while he was on his butt, and lost control of both hips when the step over occurred. The referee was standing right above the hips and DID NOT signal takedown until the offensive wrestler stepped over and took control of both hips, legs and the arm. The offensive wrestler stopped the initial counter to the crack down, and then countered multiple times all adjustments, scooting and such that the defensive wrestler attempted before he took away all possibility of being countered and therefor earned the takedown. As for his ability to scoot the hips, readjust..... throughout an entire match a wrestle always has that ability - it certainly doesn't change the fact that he had the takedown - and in sudden victory, as soon as a takedown is established the match is stopped (except...).

I'll be going all Jammen on the coaches if they let Mark get away. I'm going to be angry, sad, but true. It's on the coaches to convince home state prodigy's to stay home. We lost Benick last year and I don't care if they don't want to wrestle for Minnesota. The coaches need to get them to want to wrestle for Minnesota.

The same knuckleheads on the forum are the same knuckleheads at the Excel, and the same knuckleheads at the Pavilion. Run Mark! Run away and take the Stevesons with you. Maybe the local media should ask Marks mom what it was like sitting in the crowd at the excel. I sat by her a couple times. Real heart warming! I was real proud to be a minnesota wrestling fan. That was sarcasm by the way! There might be a couple of gopher parents who might not like Mark being the center of attention at the U. Something to think about........

Zeke Jone is the only person that could have talked Benick away from the U. Unfortunately for us, Zeke returned to college coaching 1 year too soon. Actually, Viratas told me at St Louis NCAAs that Benick was considering the U but hated being pushed into it and wanted to be able to make his own decisions. A similar thing may have happened with Marstellar's decommitt to Penn State. So pressuring someone too much can backfire.

Like I said, without Zeke making a move to ASU Benick would be a gopher. Process of elimination.
I agree too much force can have a negative effect though.

The college crowd is vastly different from the high school crowd. A majority of those at the X are not college wrestling fans. Their interest in the sport fades once their child/relative/friend is done competing. It would be unfortunate if those negative individuals who have minimal interest in college wrestling impact a wrestlers opinion of a college fanbase. I do wish the Hall family has positive experiences going forward. Unfortunately the past cannot be corrected. Wrestlers and families read these forums on occassion, so everyone should keep that in mind next time they want to come online and throw somebody under the bus. A little positive reinforcement can go a long ways.

I have heard a lot of crap when H.S. kids/parents are just plain jealous and make themselves look stupid.

so everyone should keep that in mind next time they want to come online and throw somebody under the bus. Hall gets thrown under the bus! But wait, he slides all the way through and hooked up an axle. He has it turned and he sticks it. The crowd goes wild.

Could Hall start for the Gophers now? Is he that good? He would start at 165...Wanzek has severely under performed. He is only a RFR and has plenty of time to improve, but Hall is a prodigy. I bet if he went into the room right now, Wanzek might beat him for a day or two, but Mark seems to constantly improve and I would have to believe that once he figured him out after a short time, he'd beat him.
As for 174, I don't think he could beat Storley--he's a 3xAA and a 22 year old (or nearly) senior. Wonder if Storley will be a volunteer assistant next year if he's still working on his degree...

Cradle, I do not have a problem with what goes on during a match/dual. It is the crap that goes way beyond that. I think all of us gopher fans would want Mark in the worst way. He is awesome and fun to watch.

J seemed awful happy at the state Fair talking about signing Steveson. Perhaps he was planning on his little bro Gable following Bobby. One Bennick, or 2 Stevesons? That was for the Gopher staff to consider. Young Gable looks good, so does Bobby.
Same with the Berge Bros.

I'm as excited about Berge as I am about anybody else. Certified freak.

Dylan Reel seeded #1 in NJCAA at 174 lbs. He verballed to Oregon State, but maybe he's getting homesick for the midwest.

Berg loses to Logan Axford of TMBWWG in the final OT. Very good match between two talented wrestlers!
