I think Verkleeren is staying at Iowa State.

I do think Allar is going to be good for Minny. I was shocked when he initially verballed to Iowa State.

I am hoping Dresser is going after Sasso (mentioned VT as top 5) and David Carr.
No Verkleeren...that's a buzzkill. 〽️💪🏻
I think he's coming here, but I can't make a prediction at this point. ;)
Now I'm super excited again! Whose got the best source between you two? 〽️💪🏻

I don't get the impression that the Verkleeren sweepstakes is over yet. Still committed to ISU currently so I understand their fan base's optimism but time will tell.

MN finished 7th, NCST 17th and ISU 57th if that helps him decide.

Could be completely unrelated but Verk did just tweet that big life decisions are to be made.

I could be mistaken but it appears Verk has "cleared out" a couple things on his twitter header. It still has cyclones on the main picture but he removed some of the cyclone emoji's and references. Now just lists "Student athlete" last I checked.

But I'm sure this is all coincidental.....

I had noticed that too, but he still had his commitment tweet pinned on his page so I didn't want to bring it up to soon.

Ranking vs. Performance Data:
One of the big keys for team success at the NCAA tournament is having a talented roster that can then perform at peak levels during the event. A tool available to assess the raw talent of the wrestlers is to see where they were ranked as high school prospects.

Here is a look at where the All-Americans were ranked during their senior year in the season-end graduating class rankings (NOTE: WC = weight class but not graduating class, NR = ranked in neither).

It is also of interest to note that of the five NCAA champions that Penn State had over the weekend, all were "can't-miss" recruits out of high school, the lowest being a pair ranked No. 7 in their graduating class (Jason Nolf and Vincenzo Joseph).

125:
1. Darian Cruz (Lehigh) -- No. 50 in Class of 2013
2. Ethan Lizak (Minnesota) -- No. 73 in Class of 2014

There might be another coach in MN. next week working strictly with the freestyle kids, that was what I was thinking about.

Flo announced Jarod V. got his release from NLI today (in case that wasn't posted on here earlier today) and that Michael Beard has de-committed from Northwestern.

He's ranked #2 at 195--class of 2018. Might be worth looking at to replace Bobby after he graduates. Bobby would be a RJr. when he's redshirting...might only have to sit a year behind Bobby or even be a starter right away if Bobby would go up a weight for the 19/20 senior season (Kerk would be redshirting that year presumably). Allar, then Gable and McKee for 2018 class

Jarod V ('17) ASAP... RBY/Beard..go after Carr or Sasso ('18)....you start getting these top guys on one team, that is how you go after PSU. Kerk for 2019...

Add some local talent like Eischens, Cashman if they want to take less scholly money and earn get that spot.....you increase the level of talent at all weights and get guys working their tail off you will start placing higher in the country than 7th...

CMON rookie, do some research.

Beard is probably going to Penn State. If not, Cornell is in play. Penn State is dirty.

Sasso just released his top schools. Minny wad not in consideration.

No idea on Carr but the few articles I have seen Minny was not listed.

Verk is a possibility but a poster on a different forum claims No to Minny. Take that for what its worth.

Have some faith and hope that a commitment like Gable can change things and that individuals might want to come here and try to win a championship and dethrone Penn State!

I think Carr is a long shot and probably Sasso too, but Verk could possibly come to Minnesota and I have hope that they're recruiting him and RBY hard.

Hey, I'm not saying we can't get a few

Side note.

RBY just followed Ryan Morningstar and Brands. Morningtsar also followed RBY. I thought this kid was smart???

If it's the same source I was reading on the other forums (hint: Green Day song title).....I wouldn't give that much credence. Indications are that Verk is still very much in play for MN.
Is the Song title: Boulevard of Broken Dreams

Flo announced Jarod V. got his release from NLI today (in case that wasn't posted on here earlier today) and that Michael Beard has de-committed from Northwestern.

He's ranked #2 at 195--class of 2018. Might be worth looking at to replace Bobby after he graduates. Bobby would be a RJr. when he's redshirting...might only have to sit a year behind Bobby or even be a starter right away if Bobby would go up a weight for the 19/20 senior season (Kerk would be redshirting that year presumably). Allar, then Gable and McKee for 2018 class

Where's all the Gopher coaches on social media? Get to work....this isn't the 90s know more.
Not saying that RBY following those guys is a non-issue but a comparable situation was observed by the Cyclone forum:
Verkleeren just started in last 12-24 hours following Iowa State basketballs twitter, their star MBB player and Coach Dresser.....this was seen as a positive indicator he was staying with ISU.

We saw tonight how that turned out.

Point being, while it is sometimes an indicator of an athletes mindset....doesn't always amount to anything.
