USA Wrestling has Practice in between sessions everyday at Nationals, on Thursday David Carr practiced with Kyle Dake for an hour and half. Not saying Carr is going To Cornell, but if I had to bet my life savings($124.46), Carr in going to Cornell!!!

It's kind of a shame. I think that Eischens is better than a few of those guys but the Gophers are already committed to them. Hopefully they can find the resources to bring him in, I really like having Anoka guys in the room and he's had some very good results. I could still see Cashman being justified as an investment, nobody puts muscle on athletes like the gophers do and I could see him growing into a good 125.

Obviously as a fan you want to get all the best kids you can - just curious when a kid starts wondering if he wants to be part of a team, or on the team. Seems like there is a awful lot of kids between 141-157 now for the Gophers.

Well I have to wonder how many of these kids see themselves as likely starters. I think that some of them have to be okay with just being in the room and wrestling in opens.

Its not a matter of writing anybody off...
What happens if they bring in some of the guys that everyone are drooling over
Cashman
RBY
Verkleeren
Eischens

Plus the guys that are already here or coming

Mckee
Mckee
Thron
Jones
Crowe
Bergland

Pretty safe to say there are going to be a few that are only going to be practice parrtners.

Kasper McIntosh is coached by LeRoy Vega. Guessing Vega has made MN staff aware of him.

Joey Silva out of Florida is a guy who doesn't seem to get the national attention he deserves. His style seems like it would translate well to the college level. Flo has him listed as a 125, but I think 133 is more likely.

He got the outstanding wrestler award at 132 at the Clash this year. He bounced between 126 & 132 taking out the other teams best wrestler. I think he is still a junior like Gable.

Zach is the right coach for him.

Allar and Verkleeren both at Pittsburgh wrestling classic today. Allar lost a wild one 16-11. Verkleeren gave up a fall from neutral trying to hold off a TD was down 6-5 at the time I believe.

Hopefully Allar brings back Verk's signed LOI when he returns to MN

He's to good for Drexel and as we've seen, it's never to late to change your mind. Hopefully Minny plays dirty like the rest and keeps recruiting until there signed.

He's a senior...more than likely he signed in November. Intermat has him committed there.

I hope Berge does well. I have a feeling he might be incredibly disappointed. It's going to be difficult to crack their line up and no one likes to suck weight forever. He should have been a gopher or heck even a Hawkeye!

Caden Steffen from Zumbrota just won a junior NHSCA title at 182 pounds! I don't know much about that tournament, but it seems like he is no slouch on a national level.

I'm interested to see how 182 works out next year. This year we had Moen who was the clear #1 in the state but then we had guys like Steffen, Buesgens, Florrel, Striggow, and Rogers who all seemed to be on around the same tier wrestling close matches and Kennedy and Kerkvliet who provide on oportunity for these guys to go up or down to try to test their metal. With everyone but Moen and Florrel coming back next year will be interesting to see who comes out of this bee hive nationally ranked and recruited to go DI. This summer is going to go a long way towards defining a pecking order, and seeing who gets those scholarship offers.
