i think technically Jerad Lawrence is listed as the head coach of the Minnesota Training Center for freestyle. Could be wrong. Becker and Eggum assist as well.

Would be great to add a world and/or Olympic champ to that staff. Would really help make MN even more attractive to recruits.

Umm Zain. I guess wrestling for second isn't horrible.

I think McKee will redshirt with Thorn at 141 next year, possibly moving up to 149 as a Senior.
I think McKee redshirts in 18/19 and spends one more year at 133....gives him two years with Gable and his brother.

I heard Kevin Jackson is now a possibility, I'm wondering if that will help recruit the PA kid that de-committed from ISU.

Is this serious? Think KJ wants to move to MN?

Huh? He would have 2 years with those guys either way (possibly 3 if no RS for Gable and/or Patrick).

Would bring a lot of freestyle knowledge and experience from his time competing and as head USA coach.

What are the chances of Gadson and Bradley following if this happens?

Pretty high I believe. Should be seeing something sooner rather than later.

Dressers biggest knock IMO is his lack of FS experience/knowledge

Which could lead to some of KJ's senior level guys following. Gadsden and/or Bradley coming would create a great environment for Tony and other upperweights.

I believe KJ's biggest failure as a collegiate coach was in conveying the lifestyle and discipline to many of his wrestlers. Dedicated senior level guys don't need that guidance.

Pretty good success as FS senior level coach IMO. Keep in mind Eggum was coached by him en route to his World Silver Medal. I would imagine he has a strong understanding and belief of his freestyle coaching abilities.

As others have eluded to, it will benefit KJ to work with dedicated senior level guys almost exclusively. Not the babysitting that can become college coaching at times.

Jerad Franek of West Fargo is the two seed at 152 at Flonationals. Will be the best guy coming out of ND next season.

He wrestles in 17/18 at 133...Pat and Gable graduate in Spring 18...

He redshirts with Pat and Gable in 18/19---unless Gable starts--....(Thorn's Sr year--probably at 141 unless he outgrows 149).

In 19/20 and 20/21 he wrestles his Jr. and Sr. year at 141...Gable's RSFr. and So. years or So/Jr. years if he starts right away..

In essence, he'd be a starter with those guys for 2 years--a 3rd year as a redshirt.

Rodent is just saying that it doesnt matter if Mitch redshirts in 17/18 or 18/19. He gets 2 years with them either way.

He was certified at 182 this season for High School so I don't think he will have a problem...
