You can only "stockpile" so many with roster limits of 38.
That's only at SCSU. Universities can have as many on the roster as they want as long as it is in balance with title IX.

You bring up a good point. The roster limitation of 38 is better than not having Wrestling at all. And with title IX compliance be happy you are allowed the generous number of 38.

38 is a pretty good number considering only 10 start. You could be 3.8 wrestlers deep at every weight class.
But you can only be .9 scholarships deep at every weight.
9 scholarships deep at every weight would be extremely helpful.

Very limited amount of info flowing these days. Would like to see it pick up but am wondering when that will be myself.

Any word on Benick? With Bobby moving up to 197, I'm not sure there's a spot for him anyway unless he can make 184. I'd love to have options...

Auggie could use a stud like him with Webster moving up to D1 and Longendyke graduating... ^_^

Yes, we could use a guy like Benick these days. His story does remind me of Longendyke but I don't know much about the details.

Curious to see what Kerkvleit weighed in at in Akron, I know there has been some debate on what he will ultimately grow in to. Could he be one of those guys who wrestles 215 in high school and grows into a massive 197 in college?

He was cutting to 85 originally until a handful of days prior he decided not to. Guessing he was probably right around 200 for this.

If he cannot hold 197 they could get creative and have him delay enrollment and be a 3 year starter at heavyweight or suck a lot of weight for one year and be a 4 yr starter. I am sure there is some sceneries of staggering Gable and Kerk's redshirt too that could benefit everyone. Although I doubt Gable ever redshirts. Obviously we all hope it works to have them both in the lineup for as many years as possible.

2019
197-Bobby RJR
285-Gable TFR

2020
197-Bobby RSR, Kerkvleit redshirt
285-Gable TSO

2021
197-Kerkvleit RFR (or if he delays enrollment he could be a TFR, ie Manville)
285-Gable TJR

2022
197- Kerkvleit RSO (or redshirt this season to bulk into 285)
285- Gable TSR

2023- Kerkvleit to heavy!

After watching Junior WTT yesterday, a wrestler that I hope the Gophers make a strong push for is Brayton Lee, Indiana 66kg, class of 2018. After losing a very close 7-4 match opening round to #1 seed Storr, he rattled off 4 wins including Griffin Parriott and Austin O'Connor. He ended up losing to David Carr (also uncommitted) in the consolation semi-finals by pin when he attempted a cement mixer and got caught. Kid seems like a real competitor.

He is a stud. He is from the school the Steveson's left in IN. He is highly sought after by many teams, including MN.

Couldn't agree more. I watched all his matches. He's a beast and the Gophers need a kid like that. Always on the attack and wrestles with an attitude.

Both him and Carr would be great fits, we need 149 and 157 lbers...

Hopefully they and Eischens/Cashman commit along with Treske...

I'm pretty sure he is the brother of Nick Lee and Joe Lee who are going to Penn St. doubt he goes elsewhere but it does happen from time to time.

They aren't brothers. Joe and Nick do have a younger brother, Matt.
