How many weight classes can you move up? If you weight in at 145 can you wrestle 160? Or what ever weights? |

You can only move up 1 weight class. So whatever weight class you qualify for plus the next one. |

No 144 qualifys you for 145 and then can wrestle 145 & 152. Keep in mind weight allowance too. So after Jan 1 145 is actually 147. So without additional pounds due to consecutive day weigh ins in order to wrestle 160 you would have to weigh 147.1 or higher. (I.e. You didn't make weight for 145 which makes you a 152 and can move up 1 weight to 160 |

Hypothetical: Wrestler A weighs in with the 152 pounders and weighs only 145 (The 145 pound weigh in is already closed). Can they then only wrestle 152? Edited by centralhawk, Feb 19 2015, 11:53 AM.

No. He made 145 regardless of waiting until the 145 weigh in "closes". It doesn't really "close". 152 is the heaviest he could wrestle. |

.75 Nelson can you explain what you mean by "it doesn't really close". Weigh classes do indeed close, that is why the referee (especially at sections) will say any more wrestlers for 145, if not 145 is closed move to 152. |

Just because he weighs in after the 145 lb kids, with the 152 lb kids, doesn't make him qualify for 160 if he still only weighs 145. |
