Wrestling official, help me understand how this works please. The alleged biting incident in the team event was a 15 point swing and almost cost Leduc a chance to wrestle in the individual tournament.

The next day in the individual tournament, Jake Gliva from simley clearly got bit, reacted immediately, than continued to wrestle. At the end of the period Jake showed the official the bite. The referee acknowledged it and gave 1 point to Gliva.

Why were the consequences for 1 bite more severe than the next?

Please explain if the call is up to the coach or the wrestler or the official? What was seen with Leduc was not the way I have seen a bite handled in the past. Last time I saw a DQ'D bitter in the state high school tournament was ironically the coach of Hastings program?!

Wrestling is a tough sport and if you can't handle a little biting then maybe basketball is a better fit for you. If I'm losing the match then I'm pulling out all the stops and doing what it takes to win. If a bite is too much for you and you can't continue then I'll take the win anyway I can get it. Ha! Of course I am joking and having fun
