Been getting several emails and love them so no complaining here.
Go to MN/USA Wrestling and they have all the regional practices listed.
For my self I will be doing my recipe Monday nights at RCTC 7pm. Rochester Regional Center.
Juniors and cadets.
Please get a MN USA wrestling card.
Looking forward to sharing the marinade on how to win those position fights.
PM me for any question.
highly recommend finding a training partner to car pool with or call a wrestler from another town and meet you there.
North regional wrestling trny will be May 20th-22nd held in Rochester and we need as many MN kids there as possible to qualify(top 4) for Fargo as Automatics freeing up spots on the Storm team.
I have coached this regional(10 plus years) as it was mostly held in Waterloo IA and there will be kids from 6 to 7 states present. Now its in our back yard, lets take advantage of this gift.

With this said the Storm National camp is open to walk ins this summer and I consider this camp to be one of the best in nation and it is intense training, come in shape. If you think your kid is at that level to train at a camp like this talk to your local coach or shoot me a PM.
My email is gmchief@hotmail.com for any other questions you may have about the international styles of wrestling.
More information will come out as the season starts to roll.

SE MN: Take advantage of this opportunity! Go wrestle someone outside of your local room, if possible. This is a great way to get a different look and prepare for the larger tournaments in the late spring/early summer and be prepared to give your best showing at Fargo in July.

Tentative the 15th, 7 to 8:30. Tuesday's and Thursdays.
Heath is one of the state's best Freestyle coaches and 2nd to none relating to the kids.

I didn't want to post and avert attention from Mondays in Rochester, but yes, Unit's times/days are what we're aiming for. If you have any questions regarding Stewartville practices, always feel free to send me a PM. I'll either have the answer, or know the person where I can get the answer, in a timely fashion.

Let's start the spring/summer season, already. Lots of opportunities, and our corner of the state keeps building more to help the kids have a great off-seasons, which shows up in late February/early March.

EDIT: 7-8:30 Tues/Thurs starting 3/15 confirmed

Monday night practices at RCTC 7-8:30 I'm open to school boy ages if they have a good foundation in the sport of wrestling. As we all know to be good at anything one must do good repetition, if we want to be great at some something we need great repetition every time.
We train a life time to execute THAT MOVE in that 10 second window not knowing when it will appear.

Last week's practice was all Gut wrench defence, proper position, defence and movement.
Tonight we warm up with Guts and work tilts then to on the feet hand fighting. Come join the fun as we will have MN Storm Cadet Coach Adam Thronson and Storm All American Wyatt Richardson showing there skills.
7pm RCTC wrestling room.

Freestyle: Cadets must qualify for state by placing Top 4 in a qualifier bracket of 5 or more or Top 2 in a bracket of 4 or less. If someone that placed ahead of you qualified already, the qualification slides down to the next person. Juniors do not have to qualify. They just have to sign up for JR State at Augsburg (different state tournament than Cadets).
Greco is open for both age groups.

Practice went pretty well, tonight. Had kids from all over the region working on fine-tuning gut wrenches, ankle laces, and par terre defense. Threw in some transitions from takedowns to turns, wrestled live, and we were out of there.

Thanks to everyone who keeps making the trip to Rochester. It's fun to come into a room full of kids who want to learn the styles and get better at wrestling, period. Also, thanks to the parents who helped with the random blood and nicks and scratches. I don't think we've had to deal with that at all until tonight, of course ha. But it's nice to have a good group of adults that are eager to help.

Little blood in a hard practice is apart of the recipe. It's a good thing when they come as far as 60 miles.
Some good tips during the week.
Try to find a track and do 4-220 yard sprints with a minute rest between. Build up to 6 or 8 before state or Fargo camp.
After 220 sprints then break it down to 10- 50 yard sprints. 30 second rest.
This will train your body to sprint and fight during these Greco/Freestyle matches and alow your mind to execute it.
Nice to fit 2 of these in a week. Throw in a long endurance run/walk sprinkled in there during the week. Fill in the open days with some good weight lifting, lots of stretching.
Key- every morning, 24 once of water, huge stretch and a hot shower. Great detox body flush for the system. Worried about weight, nice small glass of water, hot shower, stretch. Take time to be kind to your self, liston to your body.

Good luck to every one who has been training Freco. Have fun and make sure to get to the Storm camp. Make the team or not it is open to learn the fine art of the Freco Recipe to become a H.S. State placer.
