I wish there was a good summary of the qualification process somewhere (maybe I haven't looked hard enough). I think it's 65 & 86 are the two unqualified weights right now.

Dake and Cox will wrestle a 3rd match after Dake came from behind and won. Dake showed he can score when he actually initiates offense, but he waits so long to do it. Really hope Cox wins the third match
Sure hope Dake wins the 3rd one...

When you click on the camera icons on the trackwrestling dashboard it shows the mat on NBC Sports. You may have to sign into your cable or dish account to prove that you get that TV channel. I didn't have to do anything on my phone or tablet.

I am Varner Fan and was cheering for him, but I think Snyder is the best chance between the two for the US.

Good luck to Team USA!

OK, MNDAKPSU. I hear you about the cliche depth quality thing. But not really. Taylor is overhyped. Hands down. Pico is a much much better world wrestler than Hall. I think they are the same age too. Am I wrong?
What? You have Molinaro who was 5th or 6th last year at the US open taking down the big names at his weight class. Pico is the future there but Molinaro is in his prime.

You have Cox knocking out Herbert.

And the list goes on.

Taylor isn't over hyped, he has had success on the national and world stage, but he was never the favorite to win especially going up a weight class. This shows the depth.

Look at the brackets, my opinion holds true.

Pico has focused on freestyle for a few years now. Hall is a great wrestler and right in the head of the pack with the rest of the collegiate wrestlers his age. I see Hall as a front runner in 2020 and 2024.
Yo know Pico beat Notank Frank previously? What has Taylor done internationally? Moving up a weight to avoid JB didn't help him much on this level. With his leverage he should stay down a weight class.

Pretty happy Cox beat Dake. Cox is so big, fast, and strong, I just think he gives the US the better chance to qualify and do well once qualified.

Selfishly I also hope this is the driving force behind Dake going Greco. I feel like he would literally be a world beater in Greco. I'd also love to see Hall try his hand at some senior level Greco events too. Throw those two in with Zillmer, Coon, and Thielke and that would be a greatly needed infusion of high quality youth to the program.

Taylor needs to go back to the drawing board. He has been significantly less active than he was at 74kg, and the move up was supposed to allow him to wrestle at a more comfortable weight and theoretically do better. I don't see it right now.

Hall is along way from the front runner. Dieringer will take over this weight when JB is done.

The saddest part of Molinaro winning is, he most likely won't qualify but we might not ever see Pico wrestle again. MMA is his future. I hoped he'd win just to keep him around longer. Pico would have been the best high school wrestler ever had he stayed. Just think, him and Hall are the same age and he's competing and beating the best in the USA.

Pico has been arguably the U.S.'s most traveled wrestler. He is quite devoted and MMA will be there after another year or two.

whahhhhh...sorry, but grow up, Tony Ramos....

what do you think happens day in, day out, at the OTC in Colorado ? Or at the MTC here in Mpls ?Or any number of other Regional Training Sites all over the US....

Do you think the coaches there promise a spot to one guy, and everybody else is just supposed to be a throwing dummy/practicepartner ? Nope. It's every man for himself. Sorry if you got the impression that is what you were promised...but maybe the training in the room showed the coaches otherwise ?

The guy who wrestled better won the spot.....
not saying he is the better wrestler, but Daniel Dennis brought it tonite when he needed to.

The whining might be a bit over the top, but I tend to agree with Ramos. Really shows the true colors of the Iowa coaching staff.

Hopefully high school wrestlers see how the University of Iowa treats its wrestlers.

towards the front of the pack.

4 years of college under his belt, 4 more tears of senior level experience, and 4 years of strength training. He is right there with the best 19/20 year olds in the nation. He will make a serious run in 2020.
